Firehouse Freddie Company 9, Rockville Road, Will have a Fireman’s Ball June 7th at 9:00 p.m. till 1:00 a.m. Music by Nick Cray. Come one, come all. “A hint to the wise.” This week let’s all check our wiring and fuses in our homes. Our electric gadgets that make kitchen work so much easier for our little women, can turn into electric dewires for frayed ends and don’t forget the appliances themselves. It’s a good idea to let the expert do these repairs. It will cost a little money now, but you will save money in the long run. I also have found out, the hard way. That those crumbs in the bottom of your toaster, can build up (touching the coils) and cause a nice little shock. Avoid the use of multiple attachment plugs and don’t put all the appliances on one electrical circuit. ® M C CORMICK LUMBER CO, Ina Defy Complete Stock of Kin Dritd Lutnber in Towe 702 North Tbbo Avenue

The fishing for this year hasn’t gotten off the ground yet but if it goes along with the pattern of the past few years we should hear of a seven or eight pound bass from Patton Park in the next two or three weeks. Up until the past week the water and the weather haven’t been the best for fishing, but last Thursday Fred Williams from Bridgeport, Indiana and myself dropped out to Geist Reservoir to take a crack at some spring bass, and we got a surprise. The water was clearing but still murky, and the temperature was around 45, the water temperature that is, we rented a boat from Scotty at the dock and in a half an hour Fred had a pound and a half bass and

six crappies and I had a two pounder and five nice crappies. But for the first day out this year we felt we were at least breaking even. I forgot to mention that we got those bass on the old spring stand by long fat night crawlers, on a hook tossed as close to the bank as we could get them. And that’s about all I’ve heard this week but as the season gets in to full swing we’ll try to let you know the best spot to go and the best bait to use, and the rest is up to you. Hope you have a good fishing season and if you do, drop me a line. WESTWOOD SNACK BAR OPEN 6:15 to 9:15 SHORT ORDERS, DRINKS SANDWICHES
