Board of Education Metropolitan School District, Wayne Twp. General Policy Statement The Board of Education of the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township, as it is now constituted, is an interim school board. The members of the Board of Education felt at the beginning of their work July 1, 1963, and still feel, that they have two basic responsibilities to the children and patrons of this school district. These are: (1) to provide for a smooth transition from the trustee method of local school operation

to the board method of local school operation, and (2) to lay a sound foundation for the central administration of the school district so that said administrative structure can effectively serve the educational needs of the community.
