SECOND HORSESHOE MEETING SET A second general meeting has been called by the Speedway Park Horseshoe League. This meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 at the Speedway Town Hall. If you live in or around Speedway, (around means within 20 miles) and are interested in having a good time, come around and lend your support to our league. We don’t care if you ever pitched a horse-shoe or not, we’ll give you a handicap that will make you as tough as the experts. It’s up to you to improve that handicap. There will be regulation clay pits and equipment for the use of the league members. But! we need your support so get up a team (four to size players) or come alone, but be there tonight at 7:00. Last Thursday night , March 28, the first general meeting for this league was held. There were thirteen men present. The meeting was opened by introduction all around. The purpose of the league was explained by Jim Crumley who represented the Speedway Park Department. The primary aim is to stimulate interest in a sport that can provide healthful, competitive activity for men who have retired from the more active sports such as basketball, baseball, etc. (Those still active are also invited). The league play will be held on a week night to be decided upon later. Mr. A. E. Harris, a Speedway resident and holder of many state and national championships, went over rules and regulations and answered the many questions of those present. Mr. Fred Armentrout, President of the Indianapolis Horseshoe league, was also present and pledged his support to the new league. Since this was the first meet-1 ing, it was decided by the group that another meeting would be; necessary. Each individual pres- ( ent was to contact as many peo-1 pie as possible to stimulate inter-' est and attendance in the second meeting to be held Thursday,' April 4, 7:00 at the Town Hall. Tonight! If you enjoy a good time, why don’t you come to this meeting tonight and help us get this league started? Card of Thanks I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the prayers, calls, flowers and cards sent to me during my recent hospitalization. Walter Gary

Riding his original hunch hard, he added more flavors of ice cream, fried clams and the inevitable sizzling Frankfort, all according to his mother’s recipes, and was on his way.
