Glen Miller, senior member of the varsity band, played the national anthem at the opening of each session of the Marion County Tourney last week. Enrollment for adult evening classes will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, in Room 121 of the high school. During the past two years classes have been held in clothing and typewriting. Other classes can be organized if there is sufficient demand and if teachers are available. A minimum of twelve is requested to start a class.
Several Speedway students participated in a Speech Festival at Peru last Saturday. The group received eight first places, seven second places and nine third places. Susan Power, Jaci Tomulonis, and Jim McCain advanced to the final round of the tourney. The varsity basketball team lost to Decatur Central 57-47 in the Marion County Tourney last Friday night. Decatur Central lost to Southport in the final game of the tourney.
