SPEEDWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) January 20th, at the 11:00 worship hour. All parents wishing to participate in this ceremony are asked to call either Mrs. H. L. Norman, AX. 1-6642, or Mrs. Bill Cook, CH. 4-1686, at the earliest date in order that proper arrangements may be made. The new elder and deacon will be properly installed at the 9:00 worship hour next Sunday, the 13th. At the 9:00 hour, the chapel choir will sing and the chancel choir will sing at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Montgomery will give the sermons. The chancel bouquet for next Sunday will be given by Mr. and Mrs. George Stallwood and family in memory of Mr. Charles Stallwood. The bouquet given last Sunday by Mrs. Ada English was enjoyed by Mr. Charles Anderson in Memorial Clime. The rose on our lectern last Sunday announced the birth of Scott Donald Blackwell, born December 26th to Dr. and Mrs. Donald Blackwell. We were happy to welcome into our church membership last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Arnold, 5816 Cadillac. The Men’s Fellowship Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, the 14th at 7:30 p.m. Esther Circle will meet Tuesday, January 15th with Mrs. Viola Parke, 1619 Norfolk, at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Ray Spencer, Executive Director of Christamore House, will be the guest speaker. Naomi Circle will meet in the Bethany Room Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with Mrs. James Howard and Mrs. Jack Hoerger as hostesses. “Disciples on the Rim of East Asia" will be presented by a panel. Evening Circle will meet January 15th at 7:30 p.m. in the Singletons Room. Mary Grimes, Mildred Middaugh and Nona Burdge will be hostesses. Mary-Martha Circle will meet with Mrs. Alfred Hayes, 4934 W. 14th, at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, the 16th. Lydia Circle will meet Wednesday, the 16th, with Mrs. Raymond Dally, 5101 W. 22nd at 1:00 p.m. Priscilla Circle meeting will be held Thursday, January 17th, at 9:00 a.m. with Louise Faust. Los Amigos Class will meet on Friday, January 18th, at 6:30 p.m. for a pitch-in supper and program. The Christian Theological Seminary Players have produced drama very successfully on their own campus and are now taking it on tour to several churches in this area. Quality of acting and production is high. It possesses great dramatic impact. There is no admission charge, but an offering will be received. Rased on the life of the German pastor and writer, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, it portrays his struggles under Nazi persecution prior to his execution. His fearless living of his faith and devotion to service of his felow-man challenge us to more conscientious decisions and actions.
