Then, from 7:00 pan. until 11 o’clock, there will be the usual weekly Ladies Party. Daughters, whether young or old, of the Holy Name Society members will receive corporate Holy Communion with their fathers at the 8 o’clock Mass Sunday morning. Following the Mass, the annual Father-Daughter breakfast will be served in the school social room. Entertainment will follow the breakfast. John Ruthven, president, will preside. High school instruction classes were resumed this week . . . Juniors and Seniors at 7 o’clock on Monday night under Father Lindemann and Sophomores and Freshmen at 7 o’clock on Wednesday night under Father Richart St. John Bosco card party and style show for the benefit of the CYO camp program is scheduled for Thursday, January 17th, at 8:00 p.m. in Cathedral High School auditorium. The style show will be by the Wm. H. Block Cmpany. Tickets may be obtained by calling Virginia Grande (CH. 4-3339) or Mary Geiman (AX. 3-1025), or at the CYO office, or at the door the evening of the party. Men of St. Christopher parish will make their regular week-end retreat at Alvema Retreat House beginning Friday evening, January 18th and ending Sunday afternoon, January 20th, with Benediction. Jennifer Lynn, weighing 8 lbs. 6% oz., was born December 29th at the Methodist hospital. Jennifer has two sisters and one brother, Margaret in third grade at St. Christopher school, Bobbie in the second, and Beth in Allison school kindergarten. On Monday morning the 8 o’clock High Mass was sung for the intentions of the William Patrick Flynn family at the request of Mr Flynn’s sister, Mrs. Mary Zener. Harold Smith was remembered in the Mass on Tuesday morning at the request of neighbors and friends. Blanche and Gene Paalz, sister and brother of Nettie Altheide, requested that the Mass on Wednesday morning be said for her. The Mass this morning was said for the intentions of the Bernard j M. Flynn family at the request of Mrs. Mary Zener. Tomorrow morning the Mass will be said for John and Catherine C. Flynn, deceased, according to the request of Mrs. Mary Zener. Ruth Kreffel has requested that the Mass on Saturday morning he said for her deceased husband, Frank Kreffel.

During the recent dental survey of second grade pupils a larger than usual number needed dental care. Of the 184 pupils examined 110 needed dental care of some kind, 75 of them having dental cavities. Each year the Marion County Health and Hospital Corporation sponsors the dental examinations which are done by local dentists. The varsity basketball team won its first two games of the season last weekend defeating Franklin on Friday night and Avon on Saturday night.
