The regular Noon distribution of Holy Communion has been changed to 11:45 a.m. Communion will be given every day except Sundays and Holydays. On Monday morning at 8 o’clock, the High Mass was sung for Anna Anderson at the request of Joe and Jule Daley. Mrs. Josephine Medenwald requested that the Mass on Tuesday morning be said for Fred and Herman Medenwald. Yesterday morning’s Mass was offered for the intention of Father Lindemann. Mrs. Flora Young was remembered in the Mass this morning at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Myron J. Gordon. On Friday morning the Mass will be sung for Rev. Flavian Strange. The John Burkhard family requested the Mass. The Marguerite Ellison family requested that the Mass on Saturday morning be said for Donald Ellison. Frances Wiley, the housekeeper at St. Christopher, returned from a European Pilgrimage of three weeks last Wednesday night. While in Portugal, Spain, Rome, and France, she visited the shrines at Fatima and at Lourdes, and had an audience with His Holiness, Pope John XXIII. Our Lady of Fatima Discussion Group met with Mrs. Morelia Hughes Monday evening, September 17th, at 8:30 p.m. All the ladies of the parish interested are invited to Our Lady of Fatima Retreat League Communion Breakfast Sunday, September 30th. Following a 9 o’clock Mass at St. John’s Church, the breakfast will be served at 10:15 a.m. at the Severin Hotel. Miss Susan B. Anthony, author and lecturer, will be the guest speaker. Mrs. William Sherman, president of the Altar Society, and the other officers of the Society, Mesdames Paul Dufek, Robert Spitzer, Algerd Armin, Leland Mannen, and John Knight, attended the “parish officers’ tea” sponsored by the Indianapolis Deanery Council of Catholic Women this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the L. S. Ayres auditorium. New Sunday Mass schedule at St. Charles Borromeo parish, Bloomington, Indiana, is 6:00 am., 7:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10:00 am., a High Mass, and 4:30 pm. Key To The City Civic Newcomers Club The Westside Key to the City Civic Newcomers Club will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, September 20 at 8:00 pm. in the Friendship Room of the Speedway State Bank at 5300 Crawfordsville Road. The business meeting will be presided over by the new President, Mrs. Michael Morris. All newcomers to the Westside area are welcome to attend. Puppy Match The Indiana Miniature Schnauzer Club will sponsor a Puppy Match on the Mall of the Glendale Shopping Center, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 23rd. Judging will begin at 1:30 pm. Entries will be accepted between 11:30 am. and 12:30 pm. Entry fee for each puppy SI.OO. No charge for spectators and both adults and children are welcome. The Match is approved by the American Kennel Club. The classes will be as follows and divided by sex: 2-4 months 4-6 months 6-9 months 9-12 months Trophies and ribbons will be awarded in each class. Judging will be done by Mr. Vernon P. Fleming of Besernon Kennels, Livonia, Mich., a well known and recognized Mid-West breeder and exhibitor. Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. the Children’s Council will meet in the Los Amigos room. At 7:30 the Children’s Workers Conference will be conducted in the Bethany room. Service Day—when ladies of the church and Speedway come to Fellowship Hall to sew for the Little Red Door—will be held Thursday, September 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Esther Circle, with Donna Mason as Chairman, will act as hostess and will serve coffee. Anyone able to stay through the lunch hour, please bring a sandwich. An S.O.S. is being sent out for clean, white material!
