BUCK & A HALF SHOW A “trial balloon” is being launched at the Indiana State Fair this year in the form of a lowpriced, but high quality show which promises fun for the whole family. It’s aptly tagged “The Buck and a Half Show,” meaning that all seats will sell for $1.50. It will be a one-night Coliseum event, August 31 at 8 p.m. This new concept in entertainment was brought about by several factors. Most important of these is that the Indiana State Fair is self-supporting. Revenue from gates and entertainment events keep it going strong. In years past, many Fairgoers grumbled about high prices for costly “big name” revues. Audiences, in some cases, were small and so was the Fair’s “take.” Starring in the new “Buck and a Half Show” will be Robert Horton, the internationally-known scout on television’s “Wagon Train.” The famed Crew Cuts also will be on hand to do many of their unique recording arrangements. Indianapolis talent in the show will include Bill Baker, “Bouncin’ Bill” of WIBC, as emcee; Jim Shelton, of WIBC, whose “Pick-a-Pocket” act will feature several
