Hoosier Hundred Parnelli Jones of Terrance, Cal., who set new one-lap and four-lap records of better than 150 miles an hour at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this year, heads the list of entries received this week for the tenth annual Hoosier Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. He will drive the Agajanian Willard Battery Special in the 100-mile USAC big car championship event on the one-mile dirt track on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 15. Don Davis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Allen Crowe of Springfield, 111., also entered the race today. Davis will drive a Chevroletpowered championship car owned by Ebb Rose and Crowe will be at the wheel of the Central Excavating “Ossie.” Additional entries also were announced today by Promotor Joe Quinn for the 100-mile USAC stock car race on the same couirse as part of the State Fair’s closing program on the night of Wednesday, September 5.

Latest additions to the field for this event under the lights include Dick Rathmann of Roselle, Ill.; John Rostek of Fort Collins, Col.; and Ed Kozbiel of Chicago. All three will drive Fords. Earlier entries for the stock car 100-miler were received from Rodger Ward, A. J. Foyt and Paul Goldsmith. All three are Indianapolis “500” veterans and they will drive Pontiacs. Tickets for both events are available now by mail from' the Indiana State Fair box office. Hoosier Hundred prices are the same as last year: $6, $5 and $4, including federal tax and general admission. Stock car prices are $3.50, $2.50 and $1.50, in addition to the State Fair’s regular general admission charge of 75 cents, payable at the gate.

Rodeo Clown Wright Howington, rodeo bullfighting clown in the Tommy Steiner Rodeo, will have the “bull by the horns” when he enters the arena at the Indiana State Fair, August 25 through August 29. In addition to his witty personality and daredevil stunts, this Texas clown protects fallen cowboys from the bull’s horns and hooves. Dates for the 1962 State Fair are August 25 through September 5.
