A formidable three-car Pontiac team, with nationally prominent drivers, tops the list of early entries received today for the USAC 100-mile stock car race at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Wednesday night, September 5. Rodger Ward, A. J. Foyt and Paul Goldsmith will drive the Pontiacs entered by Ray Nichels Engineering of Highland, Ind. Goldsmith is the 1961 USAC national stock car champion; and Ward and Foyt are former “500”

Other entries today came from Bill Shoulders of North Chicago, 111., a Ford; “Whitey” Gerken of Melrose Park, 111., a Chevrolet; end Eddie Meyer of Glenview, 111., a Ford. A field of approximately 40 is expected for the stock car event by Promoter Joe Quinn and the 3C fastest qualifiers will form the starting lineup under light on the closing night of the Fair. The 10th annual Hoosier Hundred for USAC championship cars also will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds again this year on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 15.

Mail orders for tickets should be addressed to the box office at the Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Hoosier Hundred prices are unchanged: $6, $5 and $4, including federal tax and general admission. Tickets for the stock car race are priced at $3.50, $2.50 and $1.50, plus the customary Indiana State Fair general admission charge of 75 cents payable at the gate.

, Hoosier "U" Revue Top college entertainment talent will be on display at the first Hoosier “U” Revue, August 25 and 26, at the Indiana State Fair Coliseum. Under the direction of Dr. Albert P. Stewart, the show promises to thrill audiences with its “Back Home in Indiana” spirit. Proud of their state, top collegiate vocalists, dancers, and specialists will pay a musical tribute to Hoosierland. Dates of the Fair are August 25 through September 5.
