SPEEDWAY METHODIST CHURCH (Continued from Pace 1) Church. At present if you are not attending any Church in the community, we invite you to worship with us this Sunday. The Summer Choir will rehearse on Sunday, July 29, at 10:15 a.m., in Room 111. This will be Dr. Trusler’s last Sunday with us. All choir members are asked to make a special effort to be present this Sunday. “Good Morning, God” is the sermon theme- on which Rev. Howard E. Wright will speak at both services of worship on Sunday, July 29. At the 10:45 o’clock service, the Summer Choir will sing the Anthem, “Create In Me A Clean Heart” by Mueller. Commission on Membership and Evangelism will have a special meeting on Monday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Commission on Stewardship and Finance will meet on Thursday, August 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Last Sunday the Sacrament of Baptism was administered to Kenton Alan Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred T. Hansen, 5815 Hollister Drive; David Bruce McCauley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. McCauley, 6001 Cadillac Drive; Ray Alan Toms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Toms, 5079 West 16th Street.

Machinery Field Hinting of things to come is the first exhibit now going up on Machinery Field at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. A dozen or more structures—corn cribs, hog houses, and utility buildings are grouped on the east end of the display area. ‘Things to come” include many more farm buildings, farming equipment, and machine-vodels, all of which will be ready for inspection during the State Fair, Aug. 25-Sept. 5.

Our Second Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social will be held on Sunday evening, August 12, at the Church. Last year’s event was such a success and so many have requested another that the Fellowship Committee is busy making plans. Home made ice cream and cake (all free) will be served. Come anytime between 6:00-7:00 for ice cream and cake. A Gospel Hymn Sing and Vesper Service, 7:00-7:30, will round out the evening. Child care will be provided. Everyone is invited. For 2% years it has been the privilege of our Church to have Dr. Milton S. Trusler serving in our midst as director of the Chancel and Immanuel Choirs. Because of his steadily increasing responsibility at De Pauw University, where he serves as Director of The School of Music, he finds it necessary to resign his position as a member of our staff. The Church and the community will miss his greatly. In recent year he has directed the West Side Chorus in its presentation of “The Messiah” at Christmas time. This Sunday will be Dr. Trusler’s last Sunday with us. At the close of the 10:45 o’clock service our people will be given an opportunity individually to say ‘Tank you and God continue to bless you” to him. Young people who have sung in the Immanuel Choir, adults who have sung in the Chancel Choir, and his many friends in the Church will want to be present Sunday to wish him “God speed.”
