Friendship Seven Reading Club This week Reading Certificates are being issued to those participants in the Friendship Seven Reading Club who have completed reading and reporting on at least 15 books during the past six weeks. Tomorrow is the final day of the Summer Library. Books not returned by 4:00 tomorrow maj be returned to the Library on Monday or Tuesday of next week between 8-12 and 1-4 or to the High School Office during the month of August. SCHOOL HEWS Physical examinations for boys planning to play football will be held on Wednesday, August 1, at 1:30 p.m., and Friday, August 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school athletic room. Thursday, August 2, is the Speedway 4-H local exhibit day and open house. In the morning, the 4-H projects will be judged by home agents, and from 1-3 p.m., open house will be held for parents and friends in Room 110 at the high school. All 4-H members will have their annual picnic August 3rd at Westwood. The 4-H County Exhibit will be held August 6-10, in the Home Economics Exhibit Building of the Marion County Fairgrounds in Five Points. Any member who has completed all requirements in his division is eligible to exhibit his project. All clothing projects must be taken in on Tuesday, August 7, before 12:00 noon.

The activities have been going along so fast this summer at the park that it has been quite a job getting them all wrapped up. This is the last week of our supervised program. We’ve all had a nice summer working with the young people who attended the two parks. Our Peanut League has been narrowed to three park champs met Tuesday, July 24 to decide which team is the champ of all parks. The teams still in contention and champs of their respective parks are: Meadowood: the Yankees; Main Park, Blue Flashes; 22nd Street, the Yankees. Final results will appear in the next issue. The tennis tournament is underway and results will appear in next issue. Divisions of the tournament are: Boy’s Singles, Girl’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. There will be divisions according to the ages of the participants. Awards for this tournament are furnished each year by the Speedway Merchants Assn. Watch next week’s issue for re-

Lennon Agency Acquires Permanent Quarters The Paul Lennon Advertising and Public Relations Agency has moved to its own building at 2123 North Meridian Street, it was announced by Paul Lennon, president. The fast-growing firm marks four years in the agency business by the move to permanent quarters. The Lennon Agency currently represents 35 firms, handling advertising, public relations and marketing. Dancing In Full Swing At Westlake The Westlake Beach Club will present “Jim Edison, his trumpet, and his orchestra, with the Big Band Sound.” Jim will play at Westlake on Saturday, July 28 and August 4. Hilarious comedian Jack Carson will be appearing in one of the most popular comedies ever written, “Bom Yesterday,” at Avondale Playhouse, July 31August 5. Carson is probably best known for his innumerable movie roles in such pictures as “The Bride Came C.0.D.,” “Male Animal,” “Mildred Pierce,” “Two Guys from Texas,” “Dangerous When Wet,” and more recently, “A Star is Bom,” “Phfft” “Bottom of the Bottle” and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” He has appeared on many of die major network dra- ' matic television shows. “Bom Yesterday,” by Garson Kanin, appeared for 1,643 performances, or nearly 5 years, on Broadway with Paul Douglas and Judy Holliday. It was later made into a movie featuring Miss Holliday, Broderick Crawford and William Holden in the starring roles. Burger Chef To Open New Drive-In

Construction will be started soon on a Burger Chef Drive-In Restaurant at 38th and Lafayette Road, Indianapolis. A 2,400 square foot building and paved parking area for approximately 60 cars will be built on the location, according to Lloyd and Wilma Tomlinson, owners of the new Drive-In. Equipment, building and land represent an investment of approximately SIOO,OOO. The new Burger Chef franchise, one of more than 200 nationwide, will employ local people and buy supplies locally under a careful quality-control program that assures customers of the highest quality foods. Even mustard and catsup are dispensed automatically. Milk shakes can be served as fast as they can be drawn, freezer fresh and prepared to order. A complete meal will be featured for only 45c, which includes a broiled hamburger, thick milkshake and generous serving ot french fries. Key To The City Civic Newcomers The Westside area group of the Key to the City Civic Newcomers Club is planning a Bar-B-Que to be held on Saturday evening, August 11 at 6:30 p.m., at Clermont Park in Clermont, Indiana.
