SPEEDWAY METHODIST CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked” by O’Hara at the 10:45 o’clock service. Mrs. Patrick Powers and Mrs. John Clark will sing the Offertory Duet, “I Waited for the Lord” by Mendelssohn at both services. Teens and Twenties will meet on Sunday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m., at the church. The Official Board will meet for the first time this church year on Monday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. All members are urged to attend. Charity Circle will meet on Wednesday, June 20, at 7:45 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Gerald Hofmockel, 2110 Fisher Avenue. Please bring dessert for the auction. The Summer Choir will begin singing on Sunday, June 24. It is open to adults, college and high school young people. Weekly rehearsals will be held on Sunday morning at 10:15. If you are interested in singing in the Summer Choir, please call the church office, CH. 1-1563. VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL Date: June 19-22, 26-29. Time: 9:30-12:00 For: Kindergarten I thru 6th Grade Theme: “The Bible” A Registration: No fee. Register at table in main corridor Further Information: Call Mrs. Weldon Hackett, CH. 1-4827 or Mrs. Robert Leatherman, CH. 4-6323. Our regular schedule of two services and two Church School sessions for children, and one session for youth and adults will be continued throughout the summer months. Time of services will be the same, 9:00 and 10:45. If the men so desire, they are invited to leave their suit coats at home. Special music will be provided at all services; the Summer Choir will sing at the 10:45 service. Rev. Wright will preach throughout the summer. The teachers in Church School are arranging their vacations so that each class will have a teacher present every Sunday. For many, summer is a time for family vacation. This is fine. However, at home or away, be sure you do not take a vacation from God.
