DOLPHIN CLUB NEWS Square dance caller Gabe Owens will call the club’s next square dance Friday, May 18 at 8 p.m. Guests are invited at 85c per person; members are 65c per person. Chairman of the square dance committee is Mr. and Mrs. James Munn, AX. 1-3128. Any Dolphin Club member may participate in the annual Mixed Doubles Bowling Tournament which will be held at the 421 Bowl Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13. Entries (available at the club house) close at midnight, May 10. Children’s group swimming lessons start June 18. Members interested may sign up their children now. Lessons, $5 for 10, four days a week, must be paid for at the time of registration at the clubhouse. Semi-Private lessons with eight in a class will be available with classes one day a week for five lessons, $5. All women club members are invited to play party bridge Tuesday afternoon, May 5 at 1 p.m. Prize for high score will be given, according to Mrs. Clare H. Chapin, WA. 6-4707. Red Cross-Civil Defense Serves Disaster Victims Fred O. Butler, Manager of the Indiana National Bank Branch at 5100 W. Washington St., and Robert Sims, Manager of the American Fletcher National Bank at 5253 W. 16th St., are the Chairmen of Red Cross-Civil Defense Emergency Welfare Services in Districts 9 and 10 in the west and northwest sections of the county. They have the responsibility to direct the relief of human suffering for victims of a major disaster occurring in their areas tornados, floods, fires, or enemy action. There are ten emergency welfare districts in Marion tyFunctions in Stations In each district there are a number of buildings designated as Medical Treatment Stations, in which injured victims would receive emergency treatment. These Stations, mostly schools, are administered by an Administrative Chairman, generally the school principal. He has selected a staff of captains and lieutenants for supervising feeding, clothing, lodging, registration, spiritual guidance, and recreation. Also registered nurses, Red Cross first aiders and home nurses have been assigned as captains and lieutenants in these stations. Mr. Butler and Mr. Sims coordinate the work of the Medical Treatment Stations in their respective districts. The location and the administrative chairman of the Speedway active station in District 10 is: (146) Speedway High School, 5151 W. 14th St. Mr. L. Northcott. CARD PARTY The ladies Aux. of Mickleyville Fire Dept, are sponsoring a Card Party, Friday, May 11 at the fire station, 817 S. Ingomar. Time 8:30 p.m. Public invited.
