He is Executive Secretary of the World Convention of Christian Churches, and was formerly head of the Department of Evangelism of the National Council of Churches. At the 9:00 worship hour, the Chorale choir will sing, “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” by L. van Beethoven. At the 11:00 hour, the chancel choir will sing Richard de Castre’s Prayer to Jesus. The chancel bouquet for next Sunday will be given by Mrs. Edith Zink in memory of Mr. William Zink. The bouquet given last Sunday by Mrs. Aileen Douglas and daughters was enjoyed by little Andy Genung in Methodist Hospital. Senior Hi CYF will meet next Sunday. They will attend the Ordination service. At 5:30, the CYFers will go to their Department for business, election of officers, a report of the State Convention by the delegates, and a debate on “Federal Aid To Education,” closing with the Friendship Circle. Ordination Services for our Minister of Christian Education, Art Vermillion, will be conducted next Sunday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock. A reception in Fellowshipr Hall will follow the ordination services. The congregation is invited to attend. The Christian Education committee will meet Monday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30 pm. • The Steering Committee of the Men’s Fellowship will meet promptly at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 7th. The Pastor’s Cabinet will convene at 8:00 p.m. on Monday and all Functional Department chairmen are requested to attend, as well as representatives from CMF, CWF, Chairman of the Official Board and the church staff. » PERSONALS Miss Sharon Tarplee, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Tarplee, 6232 Hickorywood Drive, was recently elected into Duzer Du, the dramatic honorary at DePauw University. The membership is determined on participation in dramatic productions and a series of tryouts. Also, she was elected Personnel Chairman of the Student Education Association, the collegiate division of the National Education Association. Sharon will leave on June 10th for San Francisco to prepare to sail for Hawaii on June 13th to study this summer at the University of Honolulu. She will return for her senior year at DePauw this fall. Steve Chaleff, 5005 McCray. Speedway City, has been named Conference of Champion winner by R. C. Brazer, Regional Manager for Allstate Insurance Companies* Indiana-Kentucky area. Agent Chaleff qualified as a top producer in all lines of insurance for the year 1961 plus writing memberships for the Allstate Motor Club. Chaleff and his wife will spend May 20, 21, and 22nd in Denver. Colorado, at the Denver Hilton Hotel taking part in planned social activities and business meetings.
