E YDEDIEKIf Est e Robert H.Shields is qualified for the job. He was Executive Officer, with the rank of L#\H Llwl LI W LLlr • Major in the Sheriff’s Office through the two terms of Robert A. O’Neal. He earned out O’Neal’s policies expertly and deserves a lot of credit for the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sheriff’s Office during the O’Neal administration. He has an outstanding record as a lieutenant of the Indianapolis area of the Indiana State Police before going to the Sheriff’s Office. Shields served as a Criminal Intelligence Investigator in the Army during World War II and also is a graduate of the FBI Rational Academy Training for Police Officers. Bob Shields resides at 1806 N. Auburn Street, Speedway, with his wife, Zora Shields. They were married in Indianapolls, and have three children, Billy, 15 years old, a sophomore in Speedway High School; Betty, 11, and Bobby, 7, both attending St. Chnstonher jfrade school. Active in civic affairs of Speedway and Marion County for 25 years, Shields is also a member of St. Christopher’s Church, the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Police, Police League of Indiana, F. 8.1. National Academy Association, Marimt County Area Police Services, and Indiana and National Sheriff’s Association. He has represented the Sheriff’s Association and the Police League as instructor at training schools and at Purdue and Indiana as well.
