Band, Ben Davis Band, Manual Band, Decatur Central Band and Washington H. S. Band; Bands and marching units of the Shrine; Sahara Grotto Units and many other units of equal calibre. Various “500” Golf celebrities as well as other personalties will be escorted around the parade route in Corvettes donated by the Corvette Club. The parade will follow the same route again this year. This year the Honorary Parade Marshal will be “Uncle Wally” Nehrling. “Uncle Wally” will be there in person at the head of the parade to meet and greet his many friends in the area. A reviewing stand for dignitaries will be located on Main St. between 15th and 16th Sts. The parade will last approximately 2 hours. Reserved seating will be available at a moderate cost. Sale of the seats will be handled by various Speedway service clubs and proceeds derived from the sale will be used for their charitable or community activities. Ollie Bau> Ollie Baus, owner of Ollie Baus Company, Inc., wholesale fishing tackle and sporting goods distributors in downtown Indianapolis is a candidate for Republican county commissioners representing Wayne Township, Pike, Decatur, and Perry Townships which comprise the third district. Baus is a lifetime Republican, has been a Republican party worker in public office. He has followed a business career in Indianapolis for over forty years, and along with his business interests through most of those years Baus was a feature sports writer for the Indianapolis Star with a column titled “Fishin* Info*.” He also has been a lifetime worker at both state and local levels in fish and game conservation activities. Baus is married, resides at 3155 Guion Road and is the father of a son and daughter. He is a 50year member of the Seventh Christian Church at 2916 Wert 30th Street and has been an official and men’s Bible class teacher there for many yean.
