The Hardin For Trustee Committee Fellow Wayne Township Taxpayers: A group of your friends are promoting the candidacy of John D. Hardin for the Democratic nomination for Wayne Township Trustee. We also are supporting two other outstanding men, Samuel J. Lang and Walter Houck, for the party’s nomination for the Township Advisory Board. John’s qualifications speak for themselves. They include: 1. He is a former president of the Wayne Township Taxpayers League and made outstanding contributions to community planning. 2. Now is the Third District Marion County Councilman and a member of the Metropolitan Plan Commission, he also has served on the township planning and zoning board.
3. Hardin is one of the original directors of the very successful Salk Park Boys Club in the southern part of the township. He is a long-time sponsor of 4-H Club work and has received national recognition for his work in this field. 4. John is a charter member of the Ben Davis Lions Club and has been president of the club. He later was elected Lions District Governor and is an international advisor for the service organization, chairman of the Lions state fund raising committee and a trustee for the Lions Cancer Control Clinic. 5. A lifelong Democrat and resident of Wayne Township, John was graduated from Ben Davis High School and Purdue University. He holds a lifetime teacher’s license. 6. He has proven beyond all question, through his activities as a government official and civic leader, that he is a real friend of
