ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) evening, cafeteria style. s " Remember Sacred Heart Devotions are tonight at 7:30 for one half-hour, and the Inquiry Class is on Wednesday nights at 7 o’clock. The eighth grade of St. Christopher school will attend Sacred Heart Devotions tonight. Tonight Morelia Hughes and Betty Meyer, co-chairmeri*for the Ladies of St. Christopher Retreat at Fatima on February 23, 24th, and 25th, are meeting with ladies who have made these retreats during the last three or four years downstairs at the rectory for the purpose of discussing plans to promote the Retreat. All Junior CYO members, as well as all Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies will receive corporate Holy Communion at the 8 o’clock Mass Sunday morning. Light breakfast will be served in the school social room after the Mass, as is usual. The Legion of Mary will sponsor a series of three conferences, including a Question Box on the general theme of DeMontfort’s “True Devotion to the Blessed Mother” next Sunday afternoon, January 21st, at Marian College from one-thirty to four-thirty. Salvadore Costagliola, S.M.M. will direct. For further information, please call FL. 7-7771 or ME. 1-7240. Paper Sale at St. Christopher is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 26th, 27th, and 28th. Try to bundle your papers, please. One good way we have found, and easy too, is to stick your papers flat into the large sacks in which we have carried our groceries home. On Wednesday, January 17th, about eighteen of our ladies, along with Father Richart, attended the NCCW, Indianapolis Deanery, luncheon at the Claypool Hotel. Mrs. Joseph Geiman, Jr. is the delegate from St. Christopher. Congratulations to our Cadet basketball team and their coach, Bob Sullivan. Our boys beat St. Jude last Saturday afternoon 53 to 17. They are scheduled to play St. Pius this Saturday morning, at 9 o’clock, at Chartard. Good luck boys! Grade School Catechism classes are now on Sunday mornings at 9:15, after the 8 o’clock Mass, and are finished before the 10 o’clock Mass. Monday morning at 8 o’clock the High Mass was sung for Frank Kreffel at the request of Ruth Kreffel. Jule Daley offered the Mass of Thanksgiving on Tuesdaywnoming. Mary Catherine Parker was remembered in the Mass on Wednesday morning. St. Christopher 4th grade pupils requested the Mass. The living and deceased members of the Estell and Kathryn Melton families were remembered in the Mass this morning. 5 The Mass tomorrow morning will be said for the intention of Lillian Such at the request of her children. Sister Rose Clare and her class have requested that the Mass on Saturday morning be said for Richard Wheasler. Father Lindemann was still unable to say Masses Sunday. Father Larry Lynch of the Latin School and Monsignor John Doyle, chaplain of Marian College, assisted Father Richart, assistant at St. Christopher, in the saying of the four Sunday Masses. A small group of S. & H. Green Stamp workers met with Father Richart last Thursday evening after Sacred Heart Devotions for the purpose of further organization. Jbhn Ruthven accepted the permanent chairmanship of the worthy project. A meeting is scheduled again tonight with Father Richart in the Trustees’ Room in the rectory. We learned Monday evening that we now have 600 books, plus. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray
