Footlite Acting Classes Following a meeting of the membership this week, Footlite Musicals, announced that the Academy of Dramatic Art would resume its classes in acting and stage movement starting Monday evening, November 27. The session will be held each subsequent Monday and Wednesday evening for the four-week period ending December 20. Mrs. Dorothea Bertorelli will again head this training program for Footlite Musicals, and the classes are scheduled from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters located at 4206 North College Avenue. The classes are open to the public, and advance registration may be made by contacting Mrs. Bertorelli, 3907 Guilford Avenue, or on the evening of the opening session on November 27. Footlite also announced its next major Broadway musical production will be ‘Tinian's Rainbow” instead of the previously scheduled “Once Upon A Mattress.” The staff, date of auditions, and final performance dates will be concluded at the next meeting of the membership to be held on Tuesday evening, November 28. Anyone interested in joining this non-professional musical group is invited to attend the meeting. A Sustaining Fund for Footlite campaign is presently underway. Mrs. Robert J. Hedding is chairman of this project. Funds received by contributions to this non-profit group will be used to help maintain the organization’s year-round activities, and assist Footlite in its aim of continuing to provide the facility to further and develop local talent, and to provide musical theater to our community audiences. For five years Footlite Musicals has attempted to remain selfsupporting—a feat, insofar as we can determine, not accomplished by or expected of any amateur theater group of any type in the country. Civic support is asked to financially assist in perpetuating Footlite’s permanence in its fine contribution to our community.
