Carol Choir (3rd and 4th grade) will rehearse today, at 3:15 p.m., at the church. Immanuel Choir (youth) will rehearse today, at 4:00 p.m., at the church. At the 9:00 o’clock service, the Immanuel Choir will sing the anthem, “Thanksgiving Psalm” by Taylor. The Chancel Choir will sing the anthem, “Praise Ye The Lord, O Jerusalem” (A Harvest Anthem) by Maunder at the 10:45 service. Mrs. Patrick Powers will be soloist. Mr. Hanford Lloyd will be the offertory soloist at the latter service. Our Church Loyalty Emphasis begins this Sunday and continues through Christmas Sunday, December 24. “Every Member and Friend of the Church Worshipping In God’s House Every Week” is the goal of the emphasis. Roadways, Inc., was the winning bidder for widening of Lyndhurst Drive from the B&O Railroad tracks north to 16th Street.

The bid of $9,945 includes concrete curbs and gutters as well as the bituminous pavement. Lyndhurst Drive will be widened to 50 feet from its present 40 feet to conform to Lyndhurst south of the tracks and north of 16th Street. The Board in other action: 1. Passed Appropriation Ordinance 304, which permits transfer of certain funds not needed for the purpose appropriated into other areas of the operating budget. 2. Conditionally approved a bid by Carson Ford Sales of Brownsburg to provide a new police cruiser at a cost of $1,450. This includes trade-in of an older model patrol car. 3. Approved Ordinance 303 permitting Texaco, Inc., at 3970 West 10th Street to widen its driveways from 30 feet to 60 feet to permit easier entrance and exit by tank trucks. I 4. Read into record a letter to Police Chief Glen Collins from Capt. Charles W. Linder commending Speedway Officer Howard Allen for his scholastic achievements as a member of the recently-graduated class at the In. dianapolis Police Department’s Training School. 5. Discussed adoption of the Marion County Plumbing Code as a basis for work in Speedway. 6. Set Nov. 20 as the date to discuss with the architects the progress of plans for the proposed new Speedway fire station.
