Westwood Defeats Miramar In Swim Meet Westwood Country Club of Indianapolis defeated Miramar Club in a dual Central Indiana Swimming Conference Swimming meet held at Westwood on Saturday, July 22 by a score of 592 to 215. There were seven Central Indiana Swimming Conference records broken and all by Westwood’s swimmers. Woodward Academy (Continued from Page 1) nual convention of the American Guild of Music, July 24th through 27th. The group is lodged at the Sheraton-Jefferson Hotel, convention headquarters. While in St. Louis, the students are taking part in nationally recognized competition as soloists, in ensembles and bands. Mr. Ben Woodward, Studio Director, and Mr. Roland Bunce, Instructor and Band Director, are attending workshop sessions with renowned teachers and musicians. Both instructors and students will visit the “Million Dollar Exhibit” of everything that’s new in the world of music. There is also time for social activities. “Party Hops” for the youngsters as well as programs presented by nationally known TV, Radio and Recording stars. Well known artists such as Myron Floren are appearing. On Wednesday evening, a “Miss Guild of 1961” and four queens will be chosen to reign over the annual ball. Misses Arlene Barnaby, Connie Bird, Barbara Buchanan and Jean Duncan are the Academy’s entrants. Thursday afternoon will be free of contests and business and the visitors are being offered a wide variety of tours and places to visit. The Woodward group has indicated they will tour the many sights of famous and historic Forest Park, featuring such attractions as the Highlands Amusement Park, Zoo, and the Municipal Opera where Mr. Woodward, for several years, was a professional singer. The convention banquet is scheduled for Thursday evening when there will be music by an orchestra composed of adults attending the convention, awarding
