SAHARA GROTTO FIREWORKS AT BUTLER BOWL Sahara Grotto presents its 26th annual July Fireworks display, Friday evening, June 30, 1961 in Butler Bowl. With many new creations in fireworks for 1961, this gigantic and most colorful display of fireworks promises to be the largest and most spectacular Fireworks Show ever displayed in Indiana. Daylight fireworks will start at 6:00 p.m. displaying floating objects in the air representing horses, chickens, dragons, butterflies, etc. followed by large bombsmringing forth the realization that its fireworks show time ay Butler Bowl. Hundreds and of aerial shells will be released representing American Beauty roses, peacock plumes, butterlies, emeralds, weeping willows, bridal veils, comets, rainbows, flowers, fish, flying serpents, spider webs, grasshoppers, daisies, plus many unlisted new creations for 1961. Special ground “set pieces” will be displayed within the Bowl of current and historical events; such as “Polaris Submarine” firing life-like missiles and torpedoes, “Old Glory,” “Liberty Bell,” etc. Comic set pieces for the children such as “Pelican Catching Fish,” “Fighting Roosters,” “Seal Balancing Ball on his nose,” etc. The largest ground display will feature “The Battle of Ft. Sumpter” reminding one of Civil War days. Several special set pieces will be displayed in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Civil War. Words cannot describe this planned fireworks show. Gates will be open at 5:00

July 4th Celebration At Whiteland Last year the Council of Greater Whiteland Service Clubs presented their first Fourth of July Celebration. Because it was so well accepted by those that attended they are again arranging another such event. The days activities will start with Flag reusing ceremonies at 9 a.m. A Parade, complete with hands and floats, will follow at 11:00 am. At Noon the Midway will open at the Whiteland Elementary School grounds. During the afternoon we will have games and contests for the
