Student Council awards were presented to Bill O’Neal and Karen Douglas, and Dean Hubbard was presented the president’s pin. Nancy Hiatt, Dee Anna Malaska, Linda Slough, Denny Hackett, Dick Swift, John Hardin, and Bill O’Neal received Girls’ and Boys’ State Awards. Speech Club Awards were presented to Arleen Harris, Dianne Tower, Alice Balmer, Donna Muncie, and Ruth Haettinger. Special Music Awards were: John Phillip Sousa Band Award, Ron LaFeber; Choral Award, Mary Jane Anderson; Student Manager, Carlos Torrella; Mod-eern-aires Award, Heresa Bongen; Choral Director’s Awards, Marcia Pollock and Kenny Wills; Band Director’s Awards, Donna Keever and Roger Heiser. The Chairman of the Honor Day Program was Mr. George Roe. The awards were presented by teachers, students, and members of community organizations. LIBRARY NOTES Again this summer, boys and girls of Speedway will be participating in a summer recreational reading program at the Library. It will begin on Monday, June 19 and end on Friday, July 28. During these six weeks the Library will be open days and evenings on a regular schedule for the convenience of all patrons—adults
