Personals Two Speedway students are among Indiana University students selected for committees for this year’s “Little 500” weekend, May 12-14. The biggest weekend on the Bloomington campus, the “Little 500” is a student affair and committees handle every phase from the 50-mile bicycle race to the Variety show featuring big name performers. They are: Marcia J. Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Renos L. Edwards, 4971 W. 15th, equipment; and Patricia A. Last, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Last, 2133 Gerrard, publicity. Judith L. Kirchhoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion J. Kirchhoff, 2316 Winton, Speedway, is among 636 Indiana University freshmen who achieved a “B” or better grade average in their first semester of college work. All were named to the Dean’s Honor Roll and will be honored at Founders’ Day ceremonies in May to which their parents will be invited. The group included 19 students who achieved a perfect grade average of “A” in ’ all academic

studies, and 200 whose grades averaged at least “B plus.” Miss Sue Todd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Todd, 1808 Norfolk, has recently learned that she has been accepted to study her Junior Year of college at the University of Vienna, Austria. Sue is a Sophomore at Hanpver and is a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority--Tommie Popcheff, 5624 Maplewood Drive, of St. Christopher School, served as a Page in the House of Representatives for Mr. Dave Caldwell, Monday, March 6th. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. T. P. Martin of 5798 W. Morris likes the Army Reserve set up so well that he has re-enlisted after already serving 10 years in the Army with 2 years of active duty and 8 in the Reserve. Mr. Martin is a letter carrier out of the Speedway Postoffice but on Reserve drill nites he is a committee chief for instruction on military cooking. He’s a member of the Reserve 70th Regt, with headquarters at the Kessler Blvd. Armory here in Indpls. and more specifically he’s with Detachment 7 of that Regiment which trains Army cooks.
