Senior C.Y.O. To Present Drama Sunday Evening “They’ll never need anyone my color. I wonder if the machines in a factory know do they say, “Now there’s a Negro; let’s see whether he knows his stuff?”. Then it might chew up all the metal pieces and put on an innocent face when the manager came and fired me.” So goes the injustice of the people of our country toward the colored person. The many faces and emotions of one southern family is about to be opened before us in the chancel of our sanctuary. Through the efforts of the Drama Committee and the CYF group the drama, ‘I Have Spoken to My Children” is being presented on Sunday evening, February 19th at 7:00 o’clock, Speedway Christian Church. The sorrow of segregation reaches into our hearts as we become part of the Williams family. We feel the sting of the lashing words of community leaders. We taste the scorn of the manager at the engineering works. We cringe at the cry of the school house mob. This play brings us face to face with one of today’s greatest Christian problems. We invite all parents and friends of CYF who wish to see this drama to meet in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. CYF members will meet at 5:30 for recreation.
