to be sold only at the door, will be 75 cents. Enrollment for second semester adult night classes will be held at 7:30, Tuesday night, January 31, in Room 121 of the high school. Classes will be available in any subject that has an enrollment of at least 12 and for which a teacher can be obtained. Possible classes are Beginning Clothing, Intermediate Clothing, Advanced Clothing, Beginning Typing, and perhaps others. The varsity basketball team lost its third game of the season at Franklin Central last Friday night by a 51-32 score. Speedway reserves were defeated 43-23. Two 7th grade teams won from Clermont last Wednesday night by 34-24 and 33-18 scores. On Saturday morning the 7th and 8th grade teams won from Flackville by 51-16 and 40-33 scores respectively, and the freshman team lost to Westlane 29-20 in the Marion County Freshman Tourney.

J. Moeller, Assistant Superintendent of engineering at Western Electric Company has been named chairman of the Engineers’ Week Committee in Marion County. Engineers representing twentythree local chapters of technical and professional engineering societies met today to make plans for their annual week-long celebration of National Engineers' Week. The celebration is scheduled for the week of George Washington’s birthday, February 19-25. Activities planned by the engineers include special programs and activities at their chapter meetings. Engineers will be available to speak at luncheon clubs and civic affairs. They will also be available throughout the county to counsel high school students who are planning a career in engineering. The celebration will be climaxed with a ball at the Columbia Club, Saturday, February 25th. Graduate Teachers Sixteen of the 370 new teachers employed by the Indianapolis public schools for 1960-61 are graduates of Indiana Central College, George H. Fisher, an assistant superintendent of schools, has notified Paul Pielemeier, director of placement at the college.
SPEEDWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) Spencer and daughters, Agnes and Edith, in memory of Mr. Marshall G. Spencer. The bouquets given last Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clegg was enjoyed by Mrs. Ward Kirkman in Methodist Hospital. The second bouquet was given by Mr. and Mrs. George Stallwood and family in memory of Mr. Charles Stallwood, and was later enjoyed by their neighbor, Mrs. Clifton, a shut-in for some time. Baby dedication services will be conducted next Sunday at both worship services. Parents wishing ito participate in this family dedication service, please call Mrs. H. L. The Reception for new members originally scheduled for Sunday, January 22nd, has been postponed until April 23d, due to full schedules at the church. Watch for further announcement in April. Men’s Fellowship Dinner Monday, January 23d. Mr. .Robert Kryter will be the speaker and wIll show pictures of his African trip. Workers' Conference Wednesday, January 25th, in the Bethany Room at 7:30 p.m. A new film strip “Bible Cities” will be shown by Hazel Smith and Dr. Montgomery will be present to answer questions and to conduct a short period of devotions. All teachers and workers are urged to be present. Service Day Thursday, January 26th, with Lydia Circle as hostess. Executive Committee meeting will be held at 1:00 in the afternoon in the Jr. Hi Department. Ladies, come and spend an enjoyable day while performing a valuable service for the Little Red Door. Youth Banquet Sunday, January 29th, bringing to a close Youth Sunday. Cost of the tickets is $1.00 until January 22nd, after which they will be $1.50. No reservations will be taken after Wednesday the 25th. Tickets can be obtained from Mrs. Helser or Mrs. Rahm. Get your ticket next Sunday! Rev. Joe Wicks of Lafayette will be the speaker. We have had a few responses to our appeal for prospective teachers in the church school. This is a rewarding work to the teacher, and an opportunity to contribute to the Christian education of our boys and girls. Fill in the blank provided in the church bulletin and you will be contacted by someone from the Education Department.
