Bell Telephone Hour “The Music of Romance” will be presented by the Bell Telephone Hour over NBC television on Friday, November 25. Jane Powell and Johnny Desmond will be featured on the hour-long program devoted to the music of Peter Tchaikovsky, the Russian composer whose melodies are heard in both popular and concert music. Tchaikovsky’s original music will be presented within a playlet based on letters exchanged between the composer and his patroness. Helen Hayes and Farley Granger will appear in this segment of the program. Instrumental, ballet and ororchestral music will be woven into this musical and dramatic presentation. Grant Johannesen will play the finale of the familiar B Flat Minor piano concerto, and Michael Rabin will play the finale of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto. Fall Flower Festival The annual Fall Chrysanthemum Display, sponsored by the Indianapolis Department of Public Parks will be from November 20-December 5 at the Garfield Park Conservatory A. J. World Premiere Of Christmas Oratorio At Herron Museum “And God Came,” a Christmas oratorio composed by Dr. Rene Frank of Fort Wayne, will have its first performance anywhere at the Herron Art Museum Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4. It will be presented by the Indiana Central College choir and the Indianapolis Civic Orchestra at 3 p.m. Admission will be free.

OPERATION "GIFT LIFT" Collection depots for “Operation Gift Lift,” the Marion County Mental Health Association’s program to enrich Christmas for mental patients, opened Monday, November 21. Forrest Tucker, star of “The Music Man,” deposited the first gift at Indianapolis Power & Light Company on Monument Circle. Additional depots are located at Stop & Shop Super markets and fire stations throughout the city. Gifts such as clothing, tobacco, shaving cream, cosmetics, and zippered bags are suggested. Gifts should be new. Clothing should be washable and cosmetics packaged in unbreakable containers.

Indianapolis Auto Show A special half hour Channel Six program will preview the Indianapolis Auto Show at 8:30 pjn., Friday, November 25, direct from the Manufacturers Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Tom Carnegie will be video host for the remote telecast which will officially open the annual Auto Show. Butler Basketball Tickets Butler University’s 1960-61 season basketball ticket sale will end November 30, Paul D. Hinkle, athletic director, has announced. Reporters Announced Mrs. Oliver Boles has announced the selection of alumni reporters for the Washington High School student paper alumni issue in February. Mrs. Boles, the former Sarah Aim Hartley, is the wife of the new president of the GWHS Alumni Association and chairman of the committee to secure news items for the issue featuring the 1935 class.
