They hope to have a definite plan to present within the next thirty days. The Engineering Department requests that all operators of vehicles refrain from climbing or driving on the Cunningham ParM Levee. The Colt team was set on toppling the league leading Cardinals. However, the Cards managed a 21 to 0 win over the Colts. The Cardinal offense struck on the opening kick-off. Rick Glidewell took the kick and handed off to Brad Black on a sweeping reverse that went for a touchdown. Rick Glidewell slammed up the middle to score the point. Outstanding defensive play by Card linemen Mickey Giant and Terry Thompson and by linebacker Rick Rost forced the Colts to kick. In seven plays the Cardinal offensive drove the ball 65 yards downfield into the end zone. Rick Glidewell scored both the TD and point on drives through the middle. A third quarter 40 yard drive by the Cardinals ended on the Colt 18 yard line with a fumble. The Colt offense was held in check through aggressive tackling by Tim McKenna, Alan Bullington, Gary Thrash, Rick Hedge, and Eric Hennerding. The fourth down kick was rushed and shot str*aight in the air. Card center Terry Thompson leaped up, grabbed the ball and charged for the goal. He was piled under on the Colt 12 yard line. On the next play Rick Rost scampered around end on a handoff play to scone the final TD. The point after was scored on a pass, Glidewell to Rost to Black who passed to Glidewell in the end zone. This article cannot be closed without mentioning two unsung heros of the Card backfield. Bill Layne and Bob Rozes led the Cardinal ball carriers to many long gains by their fine downfield blocking.
