String Quartet Concert October 27 The Jordan String Quartet, the resident quartet of Butler University, will appear on a concert series program at Wabash College on Thursday, October 27. The program will be repeated when the quartet opens the Butler faculty series in the auditorium of the Herron Art Museum on Friday, October 28th at 8:30 p.m.

Indpls. Hiking Club The Indianapolis Hiking Chib will hike the Tulip Tree Trace on Sunday, October 30. This is the Club’s annual 22 mile hike, from Morgan-Monroe State Forest to the Yellowood Lake. The members will leave the east side of the State House at 7:00 am. promptly. Walter Handy, 1234 North Parker, is the leader.

Mr. Rogers is a Pharmacist at Eagledale Hooks. One hundred and twelve Marion County residents are among 1,380 who completed studies for bachelor, master and doctor degrees during the summer at Indiana University. The summer graduates are in addition to 4,182 who completed studies for degrees in June in all of the University’s schools. One of the August graduates was from Speedway: Edward L. The 9:00 o’clock service provides the opportunity for “Family Worship.” Children in the Ist through the 6th grades are with their families during the early portion of the service before leaving for their classes. Youth and Adult classes meet at 10:00 o’clock (following the early service). A second worship service and a second church school for children through the Bth grade are conducted at 10:45 o’clock. We think you will enjoy this convenient schedule. You will enjoy, too, the convenience of the parking area that is being completed east of the church. A 12-hour prayer vigil will be held at the church, beginning 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, and ending 8:00 a.m., Sunday, October 30. You are invited to come for a 15 minute period any time during the night “Now is the Hour” is the theme on which Rev. Howard E. Wright will speak at both services of worship on Sunday, October 30. The Chancel Choir will sing the Anthem, “O, Master Let Me Walk With Thee” by Weaver, at both the 9:00 and 10:45 o’clock services. The offertory soloist at both services will be Mr. Richard H. Alte. Persons participating in the “One Great Day” will be commissioned at both services. The Church Loyalty Crusade which began October 2 and continues through Thanksgiving Sunday is in its fifth week. “Every Member and Friend of the Church Worshipping Regularly in God’s House” is the goal of the emphasis. A number of our people have shown their loyalty to Christ and His Church by being in their places in morning worship each week. Junior High MYF will meet on Sunday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Blue will be leaders. There will be a Halloween Party. Senior MYF will meet on Sunday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the church. A Panel Discussion on Politics with Steve Ent as Moderator. Panelists will be Gregg Heacock, Rick Stanton, Don Neiderhauser, Kitty Kirby, Jane Robards, and Jim McKinney. Conference on Christian Discipleship will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, October 31, November I, 2, and 4. Dr. Frank Greer, pastor of First Methodist Church, Frankfort, will be the guest leader. Members and friends of the church are urged to attend the 4 night conference which has been planned to help them to know more about the Christian faith, the Bible, prayer, and beliefs of a Christian. The general meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, at 9:00 am, at the church. Speaker will be a representative from the League of Women Voters. Mary-Martha Circle will serve. Woman’s Society of Christian Service will hold its annual Turkey Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the new church. Tickets are $1.50 for adults and 65 cents for children under 5 years of age. The community is cordially invited. Commission on Stewardship and Finance will meet on Thursday, November 3, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. In our community teams will be visiting in the morning, afternoon, and evening witnessing to their faith. Our people are asked to remember this great venture for God in their prayers.

Indiana Hairdressers And Cosmetologists Assn. To Meet Here More than 2,000 Indiana beauty show owners and operators are expected in Indianapolis Nov. 6 and 7 for the 23rd annual convention and trade show of the Indiana Hairdresses and Cosmetologists Association at the Claypool Hotel. In line with the convention theme, “A Carousel of Fashion,” a merry-go-round of lectures, demonstrations and classes will feature the current season’s “fluid bang” in its many individualized versions. Coordination of hair styles, make-up, millinery and costumes will be stressed. Officers will be elected at a preconvention meeting Nov. 5, and that night there will be a costume party with Hawaiian theme.
