Services Set For Westview Christian Westview was chosen as the name for the new Christian Church to serve Eagledale and Meadowood and outlying areas to the north and west. The name was chosen at a business meeting on Sunday evening, October 9th. Worship, Communion, Pulpit and Building Committees were appointed and Sunday worship services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on October 16th. At the present, services will be held in the residence at 5422 Meadwood Drive in Speedway. The following aims have been adopted by the new congregation: (1) Organize a congregation of a substantial number of members within the brotherhood of the Disciples of Christ on a fully cooperative basis; (2) Institute a full program of worship, Christian education, service, stewardship and fellowship; (3) Build a church building or group of buildings of a permanent and attractive type. This new congregation was started officially on July 1, 1960 following almost two years of study and planning by Speedway Christian Church. Help in planning and selection of a site was obtained from the Board of Church Extension of the Disciples of Christ, the Planning and Research Division of the Church Federation and the Christian Church Union of Marion County. Speedway Christian, as a sponsor, has purchased a building site which will be made available to the new Westview Christian Church. The site is between High School and Moller roads, with frontage on the south side of West 34th Street.
