OCTOBER 24ih Bell Telephone Hour Music of Vincent Youmans will be featured Friday, October 14, on the Bell Telephone Hour. Metropolitan Opera Star Patrice Munsel will be hostess on this hour-long colorcast, which will feature such familiar songs as “Tea for Two,” “Time on my Hands,” “Sometimes I’m Happy” and ’Hallelujah!” Joining her in presenting the Youmans music will be Janet Blair, Gretchen Wyler, Earl Wrightson, dancers Bambi Linn and Kelly Brown, dou-pianists Whittemore and Lowe, Red Nichols and his band, the Norman Luboff Choir and Donald Voorhees and the Bell Telephone Orchestra. Youmans began writing music while in the Navy in World War I. He is identified with such Broadway shows as “No, No, Nanette” and “Hit the Deck” and with the movie “Flying Down to Rio.” Youmans songs have been recorded by bands and individual singers for the past 30 years. His own favorite was “Through the Years,” which he wrote for a musical play in 1932 and which will be featured as the closing number on the Bell program.
Allison Developing Aerial Target Tow Reel A $492,900 contract for design, development and initial production of an aerial target tow reel has been awarded the Allison Division of General Motors Corporation by the U. S. Naval Air Development Center, it was announced by Harold H. Dice, vicepresident of General Motors and Allison general manager. Prototypes of the Aero “45” Reel-Launcher supersonic tow system will be ready for testing early next year, with the first production units scheduled for delivery to the Navy by June of 1961. "PRFPARAT/ON FOR MARR/AGf" The Christian Family Life Committee of the Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis has announced the first session of its program of “Preparation for Christian Marriage” for Sunday, October 9th. The meeting will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the new Interchurch Center at 1622 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis. The aim of this program is to give engaged couples and newlyweds an understanding of what marriage is, its joys and its responsibilities. Couples who have attended these sessions in the past have expressed appreciation for the program, and many have stated it contains information every young couple should have.
