The teachers’ workshop will have its final meeting next Wednesday in the Bethany Room at 7:30 p.m. Choirs. Monday: sth and 6th Grade Boys, 3:15. Wednesday: Angelus (3rd and 4th Grade), 3:15. Thursday: sth and 6th Grade Girls, 3:15. Seventh, eighth and ninth grade boys, 6:oo—girls, 6:30. Chancel choir, 7:30. New Members. We were happy to welcome into the church membership last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith, 2051 Kessler. Christian Men’s Fellowship Retreat, scheduled for October 7, 8, and 9th will be held at Indian Lake. The program committees have worked hard this year to bring outstanding laymen and ministers for all retreats, and from our own church, Floyd Troth, is in charge of the Saturday morning session, Bob Kintner is in charge of the music, and Dr. Montgomery will be on the panel. The registration fee is $3.00 and total cost is $8.50 (registration fee being deductedfrom the total, leaving a balance of $5.50 to be paid on arrival at the camp). Reservations should be made by September 26th and Mr. Oeth hopes to have at least ten men’s reservations by then so he can give them to Dean Brigham at the Men’s dinner. Several should try to attend the Saturday morning session, at least.

The Speedway Sparkplugs conquered Decatur Central 20-2 in a Mid-State Conference game at Decatur Central last Friday night. All of Speedway’s points came in the second quarter. Speedway meets Brownsburg in the first home game of the season tomorrow (Friday) night. The Speedway Reserve Team lost to Plainfield 13-0 in a game played last week. LIBRARY NOTES The High School Library is open four evenings each week for the convenience of students and adults of Speedway. Open hours are from 6:30 to 9:00 Monday through Thursday.
