Season Football Ticket Butter University’s bargain sale of 5,000 season football tickets begins this week. The special offer will enable buyers to see four Butler home games for $2.00. The sale ends September 23, day before the Bulldogs’ home opener. Paul D. “Tony” Hinkle, athletic director and football coach, said the offer represents a “genuine saving” since single game admission will be $1.25 for adults, 50 cents for children. Tickets can be purchased at the Bursar’s Office on the Butler campus. Ticket orders sent through the mail should be addressed to the Butler Public Relations Office, 4600 Sunset, Indianapolis 7. Butler’s home schedule includes Wabash, September 24; St. Joseph’s, October 1; Valparaiso, October 15, and Evansville, October 29. The Bulldogs will launch their campaign at Bradley, September 17. Other away from home contests include Indiana State, October 8; BaU State, Oct. 22; DePauw, November 5, and Washington of St. Louis, November 12. Butler turned in a perfect season last year, 9-0, its best wonlost record in history. The Bulldogs return to the gridiron with a squad that includes 28 holdovers from the 1959 campaign, including nine lettermen.

This morning the Mass was said for the parish. A special Mass of Thanksgiving will be said tomorrow morning at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Didas. The High Masses last week while the paper was on vacation were said on Monday according to the intention of Aileen Kopp to St. Christopher; on Tuesday for John Holland at the request of Mrs. Holland and family; on Wednesday for Elizabeth Meyer requested by the Jim Houk and Keely families; on Thursday for John Helmer requested by friends of the family; and, on First Friday according to the intentions of Clara Maloney as requested by the James Gillespie family. With the beginning of school, Holy Communion will be given at 12 o’clock noon. This will give many people, besides the school children, an opportunity to receive daily Communion who otherwise could not receive early in the mornings.

Members of the Holy Name Society will receive Holy Communion in a body at the 8 o’clock Mass Sunday. Breakfast in the social room of the school will follow the Mass, and after the Mass the regular monthly meeting of the Society will be conducted by Kenneth Thomas, president. The Honorable Joseph Barr will be the guest speaker. Mr. Barr will speak on government as carried out in Washington. Mr. Thomas is requesting that every member try and make a special effort to receive corporate Communion and receive the many benefits gained thereby. William Patrick Leonard was married on Saturday, September 3d, in St. Charles church at Bloomington to Carol Andersen. Father Shea of Cathedral parish in Indianapolis performed the ceremony. Mrs. Loretta Leonard, secretary for St. Christopher church, is the mother of the groom. meeting the guests and members enjoyed a White Elephant sale and refreshments served by th committee. The eighth grade attended the Sacred Heart Devotions Wednesday evening in a group. Next week the seventh grade will attend in a group. Parents are encouraged to come along with their children, as are all parishioners encouraged to get the “Wednesday night habit” so to speak, honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
