Df. Shullenberger To Head Marion County Heart Committee Wendell Shullenberger, M.D., was installed Marion County Heart Committee chairman on July 1 by C. Waldo Bryant, retiring chairman. Dr. Shullenberger will direct the committee in their education and community service programs. Other officers installed were John Pearson, M.D., vice-chairman; Mrs. Ernest Battles, secretary; Mrs. Bon Dragstrom, treasurer, and Mrs. Harry Mallinson, chairman-elect. Mr. Bryant said that the committee had just completed a series of weight control classes in the community. More classes will be held in the fall. Another program activated by the committee is free blood typing for groups of one hundred or more. The Marion County Junior Heart Committee elected Sharon Manwaring, Lawrence high school senior, as chairman of their group. Other officers elected are Shirley Applegate, Howe high school, vice-chairman, and Mary Ann Drew, St. Agnes Academy, secretary. The junior committee institutes and carries out their own program of education and community service. The junior group is guided by Mrs. E. J. Thompson, a member of the Marion County Heart Committee.
