On Sunday, June 12th, they will receive their first Hoiy Communion at the 8:30 service and will be guests of honor at a congregational reception in the afternoon from 3 to 4:30. Included from the Speedway area are Star- Cotton, J-m Hansen, Marilyn Hubbard and Donna Jones; from western Indianapolis are Peggy Bergan, Rosemary Brown, Eugene Forry, and Craig McEwan; from the Clermont area, Susan Peterson, and from Plainfield are Frank Baker and Janet Schall. Confirmation will mark the end of two'years of intensive weekly training and will signify their entrance into the communing membership of I he church. Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 8:30 a m. service on June 12th, the Festival of the Holy Trinity, and on June 19th at the 10 a.m. service. This will be the last Communion service until late summer, during August. Vacation Church School will be held in A.ugust this summer ms head of the June period as in past years. Dates are August 22 ■ hrough September 2nd with the VCS program for parents scheduled on Thursday evening, Sept. 1. James Applegarth, 2219 Allison, was re-elected Treasurer of the United Lutheran Synod of Indiana at the convention recently held in Elkhart, Indiana. Funds handled through this office will approach the half million dollar mark this coming year. Included are ail expenses for statewide programs in addition to transmitting funds from the congregation to the United Lutheran Church in America for world wide missions and benevolence causes. Jim and his wife Betty and their four daughters are active members of S>:. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, where he has been a member cf the Church Council. Employed in accounting management at Allison Plant 1, Jim puts his professional training to double use. As Treasurer of the Indiana Synod, Jim is automatically a member of ♦he Executive Board of the Synod which oversees the work of 125 congregations across the state. He was also elected delegate to the convention of the United Lutheran Church in America to be held at Atlantic City in October, where approval of merger negotiations with three other Lutheran bodies is expected to occur, creating the largest Lutheran body in our country’s history, the Lutheran Church n America, scheduled for organization in 1962.

H-gh Mass at 8 o’clock on Tuesday morning was said for Mary and Bernard Rosner at the request of the children. Mrs. Grace Hainey and daughter requested the Mass on Wednesday morning for Jahn Hainey. Margaret Stieglitz was remembered in the Mass this morning, as requested by the Burgess family. St. Ann Discussion Group requested the High Mass at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning for Nora Bray. On Saturday morning the deceased members of the Korby and Mullen families will be remembered at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Korby. Over forty eighth grade boys and girls of St. Christopher will be received into the Junior CYO next Sunday evening, June sth, at ♦he Reception of New Members Ceremony in the church at 7 o’clock. The ceremony will be followed by refreshments and initiation in the social room. A disc jockey dance will be enjoyed by both old and new members after the initiation. Due to cancellation by the Lyric Teatre for last Saturday morning s showing of Ben Hur. the Junior CYO will attend on June 4th. Boys and girls of St. Christopher school will have the opportunity again this summer to be covered twenty-four hours a day at home or at play with insurance for a medium cost. Ave Marie Discussion Group met with Joyce Peters Tuesday night, May 31st, at eight o’clock. Mrs. Joseph Geiman, Jr. (Mary) was installed as the new President of the Altar Society of St. Christopher church at the regular monthly meeting of the Society Wednesday evening. Ladies serving with Mary are Mrs. Elmer Cooper (Catherine) and Mrs. Paul Finnerty (Jacqueline), first and second vice-presidents, Mrs. Paul DeWitt (Norma), recording secretary, Mrs. Leonard Schrader (Margaret), corresponding secretary, and Mrs. William Sherman (Helen), treasurer. Mesdames Gordon Nuck and Michael Dwyer were cochairmen of a large hostess committee. Members of tiie A’tar Society will receive corporate Holy Communion at the eight o’clock Mass Sunday, June sth.
