WESTWOOD (Continued from Page 1) served to all who attend. The all aluminum pool is painted deep aqua and measures 36feet wide by 75 feet long—standard AAU size. It has water depths ranging from 4 feet to 11 feet and holds 145,000 gallons of water. This pool, which was constructed by Chester Pools, Inc., is believed to have the lowest maintenence cost ever possible. It is constructed to there is no loss of water through seepage and the pool’s decks are designed so that all water eventually flows back into the pool. The pool has a 1 and 3 meter diving boards. The all aluminum building is 60 feet wide by 120 feet long. The walls are made of enameled aluminum “monopanels” insulated with spun glass. There are no windows or regular outside entries in the building with the exception of emergency fire doors, so heating cost will be held to a minimum. The pool building, in addition to housing pool and special filtering and condensation equipment, also contains a special fresh air circulating unit so that the pool area will retain a constant, comfortable temperature without the great humidity normally found in indoor pools. Lights in both ceiling and pool are especially constructed Natatorium fixtures designed by W.H.S. Electric Company. Swimming instructions, family swimming periods and practice times for Westwood’s award winning Swimming Team are scheduled for the new facility. The total cost of the new indoor pool, building and pool equipment is approximately $120,000 — bringing the estimated total value of Westwood Country Club facilities to $300,000.. A new snack bar and a special parents lounge which contains Television, Daily and Weekly Newspapers and other literature were also installed at the time the new indoor pool was constructed. Westwood Country Club, which is owned and operated entirely by its members who work without pay (with the exception of Club Manager, Jim Clark, a secretary, life guards and 3 mantenance people), has already completed 3 outdoor pools, club house and complete playground-picnic area with funds raised from small membership dues, membership sponsored activities and events. The expense of this new structure will be handled in the same manner. Financing arrangements for Westwood’s entire expansion program were made through the cooperative efforts of the local Speedway Savings & Loan and Speedway State Bank. Persons interested in joining the club are urged to do not now while limited membership openings are still available. Inquiries on memberships will be answered Sunday, April 24th, 1 to 6 p.m. or by phoning CH. 4-3305.
