ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) very hard; and, thus made it easier for the ladies to mop and wax the floors. The ladies truly appreciated the work of the Troop. A High Mass was said at 8 o’clock on Monday morning fpr Joseph Volpatti at the request of the Linda Volpatti family. Mr. and Mrs. Ermal Jones requested the High Mass on Tuesday morning for Herman Medenwald. John Nuck was remembered in the Mass yesterday at the request of friends of the family. The Mass this morning was for the living and deceased members of St. Christopher parish. Dr. Carl and Dorothy Lindemann requested the Mass tomorrow morning for Gertrude Lindemann. Gertrude Lindemann was an aunt of Father Lindemann, and the first housekeeper at St. Christopher parish. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace! Father Lindemann has asked that all high school seniors of St. Christopher parish meet with him Sunday evening, March 13th, after the Lenten services. He would like to discuss with them the advantages of higher education and many other problems facing them as they go forth into the world, and the future of the Church. John Knight, Bill Emerson, Joe Morrison, Bob Spitzer, Don Dean, Bob Kikendall and Don Murphy, coaches for the different leagues of the basketball teams at St. Christopher school are to be thanked for their work with the boys as the CYO basketball season ends. Again this year Mrs. Peter Martich has been working with St. Christopher's two Quiz teams in the Indiana Catholic Quiz contest. The Holy Season of Lent begins next Wednesday, March 2d, with the blessing and the distribution of ashes. This day is known as Ash Wednesday. Evening services at St. Christopher church during Lent will be on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The regular Sacred Heart Devotions on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. will be followed by Mass at 8 o’clock.
