Union Federal Savings & Loan Merges With Colonial Merger of Union Federal Savings and Loan Association and Colonial Savings and Loan Association has been announced by officials of the two firms. The new company, with assets of $56,000,000, will operate under the name of Union Federal Savings and Loan Association. Approval for the merger has been received from the Federal Home Loan Bank in Washington. Announcement of the merger came from Milton S. Martin and Harold R. Victor, presidents of Union Federal and the former Colonial Savings respectively. With the addition of Colonial’s assets of $11,000,000, Union Federal’s assets make it one of the largest savings and loan associations in the State of Indiana. According to Martin, the new $56,000,000 institution will continue to maintain its headquarters office at 160 East Market Street, in addition to five branch operations. As a result of this merger, Victor will become Chairman of the Board, while Martin will hold the office of President. Three of Colonial’s Directors, Wallace O. Lee, Alfred C. Moldthan and Victor will join as directors. Union Fed-

eral’s present Board of Directors consists of Martin T. James, Dudley J. E. Kemper, Robert Q. Robbins, Martin and Thomas R. Bulger. Commenting on the merger, Victor and Martin said, “This consolidation is a logical development of the long-range expansion plans of each association.
