St. John's Episcopal Church To Present Building Plans to Cong. St. John’s Episcopal Church has scheduled a meeting of their congregation in the basement of the Sts. Constantine and Elena Orthodox Church, 3237 W. 16th St., Wednesday evening, November 4th, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a dessert served to be followed by a report of Mr. Craig Lampman, Chairman of the Building Committee, a talk and slides of the preliminary plans of the future church to be given by Mr. David O. Meeker, architect and representative of the Edward D. James Architectural firm, a report from the Building Finance Committee, and a gathering of the everymember canvass teams under the leadership of Mr. Bill Downs. The meeting will occasion both the presentation of the preliminary plans .of the future church to be built in 1960 on 30th St. at Moller Rd., and also to serve as a “kickoff’ for the church’s everymember canvass for 1960. All interested persons are invited. St. John’s Episcopal Church, after meeting two Sundays at the James A. Allison School, 5240 W. 22nd St., report that the new location is working out most satisfactorily. More room is available for both Church and Church School, and it is right in the center of the residential area of the congregation. Also Fr. Lowe, Vicar of St. John’s, has begun two Inquirers’ Classes for instruction of adults and one Confirmation Class for children ten years of age and older. These classes are meeting at the new church vicarage, 6210 Hickorywood Drive, in the Meadowood addition. Those interested in the Church or the classes may contact Fr. Mr. Robert Kryter, member of the School Board, spoke to the Biology Section on the topic, “Satellites and Guided Missiles.” Superintendent R. C. Jordan is serving as Secretary of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents. Mr. R. G. Foland is president of the Business Education Section of the association. School Chorus, sang for the Business Education Section. Mrs. Lucile Kessler is President-Elect of the Central Division of Elementary Teachers. Mr. Morris Pollard and Mr. Donald Ross were delegates from Speedway to the business meeting of the association. On Friday the Physical Education Section held its meetings in the Speedway High School gymnasium. Last Saturday morning the State Scholarship test, sponsored by state colleges and universities, was given to forty-nine seniors. Mr. Floyd Troth administered the test. Scores on the test will be used to determine recipients of scholarships to the various Indiana colleges and universities. The Speedway Sparkplugs evened their season record at 4-4 last Wednesday night by defeating Plainfield 20-18. The defeat dropped Plainfield from first to second in the Mid-State Conference, and gave Greenwood the conference championship. Speedway’s 3-1 conference record will give the Sparkplugs third place. The Speedway and Westlane freshmen battled to a 14-14 tie in a game at Speedway last Tuesday
