THE QUICK, CONVENIENT WAY TO BORROW MONEY Now, you can have an established, personal line of bank credit from which to buy anything or pay anything—through your own checking account. Here’s how it works: After your application for a Speed-Bank Credit Account has been approved, you borrow any amount you want, whenever you want—from SIOO up to the limit of your available credit. The amount you borrow is put into your regular checking account. Then you can use it simply by writing your own checks. You pay charges only on money actually used—at low bank rates. As you repay your loan, your account builds back to increase your credit reserve. P*<nm or com« m /or complete details and application. which was used for the one confessional and the priest’s sacristry in the first chapel and the confessionals in the second chapel has been used to make the three book racks which now hang on the walls at the three entrance doors in St. Christopher Church. A new and larger statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus now stands on the bracket by the side of the main altar. The small statue of similar design of the Sacred Heart was placed in the niche in the hall of St. Christopher school. St. Christopher’s Civics Club of St. Christopher school received its official charter from the Commission on American Citizenship in Washington, D. C. last week. The charter formally recognizes affiliation of the local unit with the national organization, headquartered at the Catholic University of America. Thousands of these units are chartered in the United States for the express purpose of “fostering training in good citizenship.” Our young citizens learn in a practical way the meaning of Christian social living based on principles of justice and charity through monthly projects and study of articles featured in The Young Catholic Messenger, a national Catholic weekly for students of the upper elementary grades. This year the program of study and action is “Be a Good Citizen —Serve Your School.” Pupils of the eighth grade who comprise the local unit members have chosen for their officers: Elaine Keller, president; Kathy Burke, vice president; Billy Shields, recording secretary; Fred Benedetto, treasurer; and, Don Dean, Sergeant at Arms. Discussion Groups held meetings this week as follows: On Monday evening, the Sacred Heart Group met with Mrs. W. N. Tremmel; on Tuesday evening, the Ave Marie Group met with Katrine Carter and the Immaculate Conception Group with Mrs. Howe of 1406 Luett; and, on Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock, the St. Ann Group met for the first time this year with Mrs. Earl Chadwick. Ladies who are to sew for the altar and the school met with Sister Bernadette in the social room of the school yesterday afternoon for a short organizational meeting. High Masses at 8 o’clock in the morning this week are offered according to the following intentions; on Tuesday for Anna Worthington at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Grothe; on Wednesday for Otto J. Eifert requested by Sister Mary Susan; this morning, an Anniversary High Mass for Nellie Craft at the request of her daughter, Marjorie Craft; and, tomorrow morning Mary Alice Smith has requested the Mass for the Suffering Souls. Last week the High Masses were offered on Tuesday for Catherine Crehan, requested by Joe and Delia Killilea; on Wednesday according to the special intention of the Frank Glass family; on Thursday for Margaret Maschino at the request of Jack and Rose Clemmer; and on Friday for the special intention of Mary Louise Pilsl. Julia Cesnik and Nora Bray will attend the Central Indiana Convention of the Third Order of St. Francis at Marian college Sunday. The convention will begin with an 11 o’clock Mass, Father Philip Marquard, spiritual director of the Holy Stigmata of St. Francis fraternity of Alverna Retreat House, celebrant. The theme of the convention is Spirit of Poverty. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray
