the buildings. The play, “Curtain Going Up,” has been chosen for presentation by the senior class on November 6. Mr. David Burns will direct the play. Six Speedway girls participated in the Twirling Contest at Southport last Saturday. Sharon Stout was awarded a first division in Class B and Helen Bledsoe received a first division rating in Class D. Second division winners in Class B were Gyneth Everhart, Nita Kay Degener, and Donna Keever; in Class D, Lynda Blue. A Junior High Girls’ Athletic Association has been organized with Miss Marcia Kelley as sponsor. Officers are Marsha Seibert, president; Barbara Stovall, vice president; Beth Montgomery, secretary; Linda Summers, treasurer.

Recently elected as freshman cheerleaders were Linda Summers, Kathy Mathis, Bonnie Enlow, and Alicia MacAbee, with Denny Hubbell as alternate. Eighth grade cheerleaders elected are Rita Knight, Barbara Simon, Sally Peters, and Kay Evans. A strong Bloomington High School team defeated Speedway 27-6 at Speedway last Friday night.
