ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) 6315 Gifford Drive. Our congratulations to Robert and Shannon Kikendall of 6544 West 14th street! Brenda Sue was bom at the Methodist hospital Wednesday, September 9th. She weighed six pounds and fourteen ounces. Christopher who is four is mighty happy to have a playmate. And our congratulations to Jude and Jacqueline Sum of 2017 Winton Avenue! A little girl was bom early Friday morning, September 11th, at Coleman hospital. But when we went to press, they had not decided on a name for the lovely young lady. So her sister, Catherine, who will be two in October, can just call her baby sister. On Monday morning the High Mass was said for Catherine Crehan at the request of her husband, John Crehan. Tuesday’s High Mass was for a special intention of the Frank Glass family. Sister Mary Susan requested the High Mass on Wednesday morning for Otto J. Eifert. Augustus J. Martin was remembered in the High Mass this morning at the request of Joe White. Tomorrow morning the High Mass will be said for Alice Grannon at the request of Thomas McShane. Week day High Masses at St. Christopher are sung at eight o’clock by the children’s choir. On Friday night, October 9th, the Junior C.Y.O. will serve their second annual Fish Dinner to the public. The parents will assist with the preparation of the dinner. Leonard Benedetto is general chairman. We’ll give you complete menu and prices later, but we were told that serving would begin early so that if anyone was going to an out-of-town football game, they would have plenty of time to eat at St. Christopher. The men of St. Christopher will make a Retreat at the Alvema Retreat House, Indianapolis, the week-end of October 16th. St. Christopher Cadets will compete against Speedway Grade School in the Jamboree, Saturday, September 18th, on the High School Field. This game will begin about 7:30 p.m. There will be a small admission fee which will be divided between the teams. Let’s everybody go! The annual Cadet Football Jamboree will be held at the C.Y.O. Stadium on West 16th street next Sunday, September 20th, at 2 p.m. Tickets sold by our own St. Christopher boys and girls will count on votes for a St. Christopher queen, so if you haven’t already bought your ticket do so after the Masses Sunday before you go to the Jamboree. Let’s all buy a ticket even if we can’t make the Jamboree and help to crown a St. Christopher girl queen. The iron rails on the steps of St. Christopher church will be brushed and painted to keep them from rusting on Saturday, September 19th. Charles Adler is chairman of the project. Parents’ meeting at Cathedral High School was held Tuesday, September 15th by the parents of Freshmen at 7:15 p.m. and the parents of all upper classmen at 8 o’clock. Marian College formally opened the school year with a convocation in the auditorium at 9:00 o’clock on Wednesday morning, September 16th. At 10:30 the Holy Mass in the College Chapel was attended by all the students with a large number of them receiving Holy Communion. Regular classes were held in the afternoon. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray

THE QUICK, CONVENIENT WAY TO BORROW MONEY Now, you can have an established, personal line of bank credit from which to buy anything or pay anything—through your own checking account. Here’s how it works: After your application for a Speed-Bank Credit Account has been approved, you borrow any amount you want, whenever you want—from SIOO up to the limit of your available credit. The amount you borrow is put into your regular checking account. Then you can use it simply by writing your own checks. You pay charges only on money actually used—at low bank rates. As you repay your loan, your account builds back to increase your credit reserve. Phone or come in for complete details and application.
