PERSONALS Two students from Speedway are among the 180 students, largest number in history, admitted to the Indiana University School of Medicine. Admitted are Ronald N. Beams, 6101 Crawfordsville Road, and Charles M. Clark, Jr., 2317 Fisher. Dr. John D. VanNuys, dean of the School of Medicine, in announcing the admissions, said the record-size class had been made possible by the State Legislature in providing increased training facilities at the Medical Center here. SPEEDWAY METHODIST CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) we have Church School Classes for children thru the 6th grade. Too, a Nursery and Toddler’s Room are in operation during both worship services for the convenience of parents who wish to leave their children with competent leaders. Church School classes for adults are held at 9:45 following the early service. If you do not have a “church home” near enough to attend regularly, we invite you to worship with us. Fellowship of Concern will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m., at Wesley House. The Big, All-Church Fish Fry will be held on the church grounds on Friday and Saturday nights, August 21 and 22. Serving starts at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Proceeds realized from this year’s Fish Fry will be placed in the Church Building Fund and go toward future building expansion, which is being planned for this year. We will be looking forward to “Seeing you at the Fish Fry.” The Summer Communion Services will be observed at both the 9:00 and 10:45 o’clock services of worship on Sunday, August 23. Communion days have always been important events in the Christian Calendar of our church. Through the Sacrament of Holy Communion, the members and Christian friends of the church feel the presence of their living Lord. Although at each of our Quarterly Communion Services our goal is “Every Member Present and Taking Communion,” it is not necessary to be a member of our church in order to take communion. At both services, Mrs. Norman L. Anderson and Mr. Richard W. Stanton will sang the Offertory Duet, “Speak To Me Still Small Voice.” Commission on Education will meet on Monday, August 24, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Commission on Missions will meet on Wednesday, August 26, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Fellowship and Instruction for Incoming Members will be held on Thursday, August 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Sacrament of Infant and Children’s Baptism will be observed at the 10:45 o’clock service on Sunday, August 30. Persons desiring to have their children baptized are asked to call the Church Office, CH. 1-1563. The High School and College Age Sunday School class will be working at the Fish Fry under the supervision of Mr. Arlo E. Harris. Those wishing to help are asked to meet at the church by 4:00 p.m. Friday. Girls: bring an apron. The next activity will be held in late September. “See you at the Fish Fry and in Sunday School next Sunday.”
