This raucously romantic musical was originally a vehicle for Ethel Merman. The songs of “Happy Hunting,” written by Matt Dubey and Harold Karr, include top hits “Mutual Admiration Society,” “This Much I Know,” “This Is What I Call Love,’ “If’n” and “Don’t Tell Me.” Robert Bruce Holley has directed the fast paced show, and John Charles Sacco is musical director. The show opened Tuesday, July 28, at the Butler Bowl. Movie and musical comedy star, Pamela Britton will be featured in “Who Was That Lady 1 Saw You With” at Avondale Playhouse, Tuesday. August 4-August 9. The play is another in a series of recent Broadway hits to be featured at Avondale this season. It enjoyed a successful run of approximately six months in New York last year with Peter Lind Hayes and Mary Heaiy in the starring roles. The blonde and attractive Miss Britton has appeared in numerous motion pictures including “Anchors Aweigh” in which she was costarred with Frank Sinatra. She also was in the New York Company of “Brigadoon” and in the national road company of “Guys and Dolls." Also making a special Avondale appearance for the role opposite Miss Britton will be Casey Adams, well known television and motion picture star. He has been seen on virtually every top notch television dramatic program and his screen credits include “Bus Stop,” “My Sister Eileen” and many others.
