ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) school at St. John’s. Today and tomorrow are free days at St. Christopher school. The girls of the 7th and Bth grades of St. Christopher school were taken on an excursion today via the school bus by Sister Mary Denis, superior, Sister Susan and Sister Carmel to Oldenburg. A pilgrimage to Our Lady of Fatima, a panel on vocations, a tour of the convent grounds and lunch were the plans for the day. Today is a day of Obligation—the feast of the Ascension—evening Masses will be at 7 and at 8 o’clock. Sister Julia returned to Oldenburg Saturday, remarkably improved. Sister Agnes Marie returned to St. Christopher. However, she is not expected to begin teaching until Monday, May 11th. Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Anna Andersen, the mother of Mrs. Joe Daly. Mrs. Anderson’s death was very, very sudden. She died in her sleep Tuesday night, April 28th, at the home of an aunt in Wilmette, Illinois. Her funeral Mass was said at 11 o’clock in St. Joseph church, Wilmette. Mrs. Andersen was 79 this past February. High Masses at 8 o’clock each morning this week remembered Patrick and Anna Hayes oh Monday at the request of the Robert Spitzer family; Eileen Kramer on Tuesday at the request of her son, Jack E. Kramer; Anna Andersen on Wednesday at the request of the Amick and Criswell families; and, Christian Mullenholz on Friday at the request of the El Fierek family. Barbara Anderson, 7th grade pupil at St. Christopher school, has won three spelling tests in a contest sponsored by the Indianapolis Times for a trip to Washington, D. C. She has one more test to go.
