Planned Education Program The Planned Education Program, newest service of Merchants National Bank & Trust Company for its customers and friends, was launched at a dinner held Monday evening, April 13, at Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, attended by the business representatives of Indiana’s colleges and universities. Representing Merchants National Bank and acting as hosts for the dinner were Mr. Willis B. Conner, Jr., Vice President, Mr. Kennard King, Assistant Vice President, and Mr. Otto M. Frenzel 111. Merchants National Bank’s Planned Education Program is a simple’and convenient method of securing a college education for those students who otherwise might not be financially able to attain a higher education. The parent or other responsible person acts as sponsor for the student and arranges for the loan of a sum of money necessary for the student’s education. The loan, which may not exceed $10,000.00, is repaid in equal monthly payments and may be extended in certain circumstance over a period of ten years. Adequate insurance coverage is carried by Merchants National Bank to insure the completion of the student’s education in case of the death of the sponsor. Additional information about Merchants Planned Education Program may be secured from any one of the seventeen neighborhood offices of Merchants National Bank & Trust Company, and mail inquiries should be addressed to the bank’s Main Office at 11 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis.

Early Dye makers Dyes at vegetable origin were used almost exclusively by primitive man. They were obtained in toe vicinity, with the dyer merely collecting dye plants and roots in nearby fields or forests and boiling them in water. The range of color was very narrow, being confined to red, blue, yellow, green, brown and black. Variants in shades were quite limited.
