Girls’ Athletic Association officers will be: Janie Hardin, president; Mary Margaret Johnson, vice president; Diane Douglas, secretary; Mary Jane Anderson, treasurer; and Carole Wright, student council representative. The Future Homemakers of America elected the following girls: Linda Messenger, president; Judy Zimmerman, vice president; Sally Manion, secretary; Roberta Jarvis, treasurer; Jayne Thompson, student council representative; and Ellen McArthur, historian. The Dramatics Club officers will be: Charlene Eversole, president; Judy Kirchhoff, vice president; Ginny Mitchell, secretary; Alice McCracken, treasurer; Judy Whitton, student council representative. The operetta “Moonlight” by Wilhelm and Steiner will be presented by the Sparkle-aires May 15 in the high school gymnasium. The characters involved are distinguished aristocrats somewhat on the snobbish side with the exception of Kitty, the Irish maid, and Bradley Jones who are of the common stock. As the operetta progresses the heart rules the lives of several people and the long-time traditions of the upper class are broken. Jo Ellen Haynes won sixth in state finals of the girls’ extemporaneous speaking contest at Technical High School last Saturday. Thirteen finalists participated from an original group of over 200 students from many large high schools. This was Jo Ellen’s first year of competition, and she worked hard to achieve this ranking. She had received three awards of excellence in previous rounds of competition. Miss Margy Kendall, Bth grade pupil, sketched the front cover for the May Bulletin of the Indiana State Board of Health. The sketch depicts girls engaging in the various activities of their physical education classes.

NOW! borrowing money is as easy as putting it in your checking account
... the new revolving personal credit plan c that’s just like having a charge account at our bank
Today, just as business firms need revolving credit, so may you—to spread out large seasonal expenses over a period of months or to make advantageous purchases with cash. That’s why we now offer you this new kind of personal credit service. Basically, this is a reserve fund of cash, set aside and always available for your use ... a revolving fund that refills for re-use as you repay. TO ESTABLISH CREDIT... Just fill out an application from our bank. On it you indicate the amount of cash, reserve you want available—say a month’s income, or more. The minimum application is S2OO. When your application is approved, we will let you know promptly the amount of credit reserved for immediate or future use. TO BORROW MONEY... It’s easy to borrow any amount against your revolving credit line —whenever you want—from SIOO up to the limit of your available credit. When we approve your application, we will send you a supply of special “Deposit Request Forms.” To borrow, just fill out and return the Deposit Request Form—indicating the amount you wish deposited to your checking account —and the number of months you wish to repay. If you don’t have a checking account, we will open one for you with all or any part of your approved line of credit—whatever amount you specify. JUST WRITE YOUR OWN CHECK... We will notify you promptly—usually by return mail—that the amount you requested has been deposited in your personal checking account. Then you can use the money to buy things or pay bills, just by writing your own checks. BORROW AGAIN—WHEN YOU WANT You can borrow SIOO or more—within your available credit—at any time, even though a previous loan has not been completely repaid. Simply fill out another Deposit Request Form for the new loan. The balance of your outstanding loan is paid off as specified by you in your new deposit form. You don’t have to make out a new application each time you borrow. LIFE INSURANCE PROTECTION... Your family is protected by insurance on your life for an amount equal to the unpaid balance of loans, not exceeding $5,000, at no additional cost to you.

May Blessings One of the nicest things you can look forward to in May is an abundance of fine foods, including foods popular with indoor and outdoor cooks. The May list of plentiful foods features broiler and fryer chickens, eggs, pork and celery. The broilers and fryers are equally at home in the kitchen oven or frying pan, or an the paftio or backyard grill. Supplies of these young birds are likely to run from 16 to 18 percent larger than a year ago. Pork will also be well represented at your favorite meat

OTHER IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES... You use your own personal checks! You use the money you borrow simply by writing checks on your own personal checking account. That way, your privacy is completely protected... no one need ever know about the loan except you and the bank. Payments are automatically deducted from your checking account! There’s no payment book to bother about. You don’t have to mail each monthly payment. Instead, the bank charges your checking account with the payment due each month. You save the postage. You choose your own repayment phm! No matter how large your loan may be, you choose the monthly payment that best fits your personal budget. You are free to repay the loan in advance if you wish. Low cost! When you borrow, loan charges are made at the rate of 1% per month on the unpaid loan balance. For example, this amounts to $6.50 for each SIOO loan repayable in 12 equal monthly installments. There are no other charges of any kind. If you don’t use it, it costs you nothing.

Food For Gods Honey was used in ancient times as an offering to gods in hopes of averting evil caused by witchcraft. It was considered so valuable in early times, in fact, that the man who stole honey was liable to punishment by death. Of course, honey is too reasonably priced nowadays to even think about stealing any of it.

Last year, our nation’s bees produced nearly 266 million pounds of good quality honey which you’ll now find lining the shelves of your favorite food store. That output was up 9% from 1957 and 13% above average. One recipe for hot honey breads which is bound to make a big hit with your honeys is the following idea. Simply split some English muffins or any left-over rolls. Spread a mixture of butter and honey on the muffins or rolls and sprinkle with some cinnamon. Then place under low broiler heat until the honey bubbles or the rolls and muffins are gently tinged with brown. Serve hot.
