ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) will be announced. Chairmen, Mesdames Leonard Benedetto, Peter Martich and Donald Woolery. Call any of these ladies for further information or Mrs. Vanard Sherman, president of the Altar Society. Girls attending public high schools are offered the opportunity to make a Retreat at the Fatima Retreat House May 8-10. Reservations must be in by April 27th. Further information may be obtained by calling the Retreat House. Girls attending Catholic high schools make retreats at the schools. Pupils of St. Christopher eighth grade attended a guided, educational tour through West Bakery, 1331 E. Washington street on Thursday, April 16th. Each visitor received a treat and a souvenir. All agree that Yum Yum bread really hits the spot. Again this week the children’s choir sang High Masses each morning at 8 o’clock: Mary Wolfla family requested the Mass on Monday for the Wolfla and Collins families; on Tuesday for Catherine Crehan requested by John Crehan; on Wednesday for Joseph Kempf requested by the Henry Rosner family; this morning for Paul Mullenholz requested by the Ed Fierek family; and tomorrow morning they will sing for Victor Eugene Birkle requested by the James Birkle family. Sacred Heart Discussion Group met with Mrs. Vanard Sherman, 2041 Winton, on Monday evening, April 20th, at 8 o’clock. Our congratulations—a little late, but just as sincere—to Jim and Mary Schneider of 1950 McArthur! Mary Eileen weighed eight pounds and nine ounces when she was born Thursday, March 26, at the Methodist hospital. The Schneider brothers were mighty happy to have a sister: Dan is in the first grade at St. Christopher school. Tim is in Kindergarten. Tom and Jim II are still home. Junior C.Y.O. preceded their business meeting Tuesday evening by a Holy Half Hour at seven-thirty. Fifth grade pupils of St. Christopher school attended the Sacred Heart of Jesus devotions Wednesday evening. It is said that we are creatures of habit. Why not then get into the good habit of attending the half-hour Sacred Heart of Jesus devotions at St. Christopher every Wednesday evening? The services begin at 7:30. It is written that the Sacred Heart will shower many graces and blessings upon those who show their love and are devoted to Him.

During the month of April, the month of the Sacred Passion, members of the Apostleship of Prayer conclude their morning offering prayer by “and in particular for priests in de-Christenized areas,” thus making a general Mission intention with the general intention of good Pope John XXHI. On the new church bulletin lorms now being used the time of Masses at St. Christopher was boldly blocked out: Sunday morning Masses—6:3o, 8:00, 10:00 and 11:30. The warning bell rings five minutes before each Mass. Week day mornings, if not a Holyday, at 6:15 and 8 o’clock. On Holydays, at 6:00, 7:30 and 9 in the morning and at 8 in the evening. On First Friday at 6:15 and 8 in the morning and at 8 o’clock in the evening. We should not only attend Sunday Mass, but as many week-day Masses as we possibly can, remembering that one Mass heard by us. while we are living is worth many times more than a Mass said for us after we are dead toward the salvation of our soul. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray SPEEDWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) ning at 6:30 p.m. The Workers Appreciation Dinner (for all workers in our Church School) will be held next Monday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
