ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (Continued from Page 1) Thursday—High Masses were said for a Special Intention, for Elizabeth Glass requested by her husband Lawrence Glass, for Walter D. Boyer requested by his wife, Mrs. W. D. Boyer, and for Frank Rosner requested by the Henry Rosner family. Tomorrow morning at eight o’clock Catherine Crehan will be remembered in the Mass at the request of Tom Quinn. The children’s choir sing these weekday Masses. After the eight o’clock Mass, Sunday morning when the daughters will join with their fathers in receiving corporate Holy Communion, a committee of Holy Name members will serve a ham and egg breakfast in the school. Breakfast will be followed by movies. Sacred Heart Discussion Group met at the home of Mrs. Carl Sheets, 1630 Allison, Monday evening at 8 o’clock. St. Ann Discussion Group met at 9:30 Wednesday morning with Mrs. Peter Martich, 1664 Presto. St. Anthony Discussion Group met on Monday evening, March 30th, with Mrs. Joseph Rosner. The next meeting for this Group will be Monday evening, April 13th, at 8:45 in the home of Mrs. Kenneth Toney. Seventh grade students attended Sacred Heart of -Jesus Devotions on Wednesday evening. If only more and more people realized the graces to be gained by coming to St. Christopher each Wednesday evening at seven-thirty and by joining in the songs and prayers for just one half-heart to the Sacred Heart! The short service closes with Benediction. On Sunday afternoon, April 26th, at 3 o’clock (C.D.S.T.) the Third Annual Catholic Song Fest will be held at the Butler Field House. The program will last a little more than an hour. Pupils from the sixth, seventh and eighth grades in thirty-eight parochial schools in the Indianapolis district will participate. On the program will also be the Bel Canto Chorus of Marian College, the Columbians, and the Sarto Polyphonic Schola. This Song Fest is presented each year to stimulate interest in vocal music and to increase knowledge and participation in an organized manner. Tickets for all grade pupils are 25c and SI.OO for all others at the gate. Pre-school children will be admitted free, and two in a family will be admitted for $1.50. Alvema Retreat House, 8140 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis for laymen and priests reports a record attendance in 1958. Men not only from Indianapolis, but from all over Indiana come there to make week-end retreats. These retreats open on Friday evening and close the following Sunday evening. What is a retreat? It is a time for special prayers, a time for taking oneself away from the world and for living closer to God. Many non-Catholic men make these retreats as well as Catholic men. The Retreat House for women in Indianapolis is the Fatima Retreat House at the Sisters of the Good Shepherd on South Raymond street. Pray your Rosary daily for peace in the world. Nora Bray

The Westwood Country Club outdoor swimming pool is undergoing extensive repairs and modernization. A leak was found in the main drain area and is being repaired. We will no longer use pool water to back wash the pool, and the water will be on the average of 10 degrees warmer than it has been in the past years. The main worry for the Board now is, whether or not they can buy enough ice to cool the water.
New Allison Products On Exhibit At World Congress Of Flight A variety of new products the Allison Division of General Motors is developing for the aerospace age will be on display for the first time at the “World Congress of Flight,” April 12-19 at Las Vegas, Nev. The Congress, first of its kind ever held in the United States, is expected to draw thousands of aviation and missile men from throughout the Free World. On hand for the colorful exposition will be educators, scientists, diplomats, businessmen and armed forces representatives from at least 35 nations. Lockheed’s new Electra luxuryliner and a Convair 340 transport, both powered by Allison Prop-jet engines and Aeroproducts Turbo-propellers, will be among the many displays in the limelight when General Motors telecasts the Congress April 19 from 5 until 6 p.m. (EST) over the NBC Television Network.

Focal point of the 2,000-square-foot General Motors exhibit will be a futuristically-designed 13foot sphere, inside of which a solor engine—being developed as a satellite powerplant by Allison —will transform heat directly into electrical energy to operate a cluster of mobiles.
Nearby in the Allison group will be the high-speed, high-per-formance pyrophoric ramjet—a three-foot propulsion system weighing only a dozen pounds yet producing power capable of hurtling a 200-pound target drone at speeds to Mach 3 at 80,000 feet. “Small but powerful” also applies to the Allison T 63 Prop-jet aircraft engine that weighs only 110 pounds yet develops 250 horsepower—an ideal power unit for light fixed wing aircraft. Allison Division’s Aeroproducts Operations will have on display a pressure intensifier pump designed to provide hydraulic power for missile accessories and a hydraulic power hinge being developed as an improved means of raising or lowering air craft control surfaces. Another attention-getting display in the Allison collection will be the GMT-305 “Whirlfire” gas turbine engine for automotive applications. Soon to be in production at the Allison Division, the “Whirlfire” will be available for installatiin in heavy-duty offhighway and on-highway vehiclles, prime movers, military and marine applications, and stationary powerplants. Back-stopping this GMT-305 development program is the more than 15,000,000 hours of gas turbine engine experience Allison has accumulated over the more than 14 years it has produced turbojet and propjet aircraft propulsion systems.
Frozen Food Frozen food which has been stored at temperatures above zero can never regain the quality it has lost, say Purdue University consumer education specialists. It can, however, be returned to zero to protect it from further damage.
